Thursday night I woke up with horrible back and abdominal pain and I figured it was just the position I was sleeping in. Well then around 2am I started with nausea and dry heaving so I called my ob doctor on call and of course they want me to go to the hospital. So my poor husband is running around the house trying to grab things and I kept telling him it wasn’t an emergency and calm down. After I convinced him to just bring his meds since we didn’t know how long I would be there we where on our way. They hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor which was kind of cool (at least it would have been if I didn’t feel like total crap). Danny kept asking what all the different numbers where for (he really liked the toco or as he called it taco number). I wasn’t running a fever but because of the back and abdo pain they wanted to monitor me for a little while. Just when they where getting ready to let me go I started having contractions so they kept me for a bit longer. Finally after poking and prodding me they let me go home and gave me a script for the nausea. Well as soon as I got home I started throwing up and couldn’t keep anything down. I spent all day sleeping trying not to throw up the anti-nausea medicne they gave me. I started running a fever and couldn’t get it down with tylenol so I called my ob again to see what I should do. Big surprise she wanted me back in the freaking hospital. My poor husband had been up all night and day and refused to get any sleep because he wanted to make sure I was ok. When I got to the hospital they gave me an iv and fluids because I was very dehydrated but at least I wasn’t having any contractions. After the iv fluids I felt like a new woman and my fever was gone so they let me go home. Now I sit here today feeling just fine. I guess it was one of those 24 hour stomach bugs since they never really did give me a diagnosis. I just hope my poor husband doesn’t catch it too 🙁 Poor guy is downstairs alseep on the sofa since he was up for over 24 hours straight lol. Just thought I would share my fun 48 hours.

December 8, 2007 at 5:50 pm #643661I hope everything is fine for you and the baby. How is your husband doing??
December 8, 2007 at 5:55 pm #643662Glad you’re feeling better.
December 8, 2007 at 6:04 pm #643663Hubby is now 3 months post transplant and doing fine. He will have his 3 month bronc friday which he isn’t looking forward to since they have to sedate him for it. He said he hates to be sedated since its so hard for him to wake up from it. They will go in and take a biopsy to make sure he doesn’t have any rejection going on. He did graduate from his pulmonary therapy class but he likes going so much that he signed up for the maintenance program they have. This way he still gets to go and work out instead of sitting on the sofa like a lump.
December 8, 2007 at 6:15 pm #643664I’m glad it wasn’t anything too serious and that you are feeling better
December 8, 2007 at 6:33 pm #643665Well that answers my question in the Red Fire thread!
Glad you are okay. Dehydration is never fun and makes you feel really yucky. Glad you are doing better and that baby was not affected.
Poor Danny, if this is any indication, he’s gonna be a mess when you go into actual labor! LOL!
I’d get all your hospital stuff together in an overnight bag, put a 2 day supply of his meds in it, and have it by the door. That way, when you do go into labor, you won’t be running around hunting for stuff, just pick up the bag and go.
I am so excited for you guys though. I can’t wait to see this new baby when she gets here! Have you thought of a name yet? Time’s running out!

December 8, 2007 at 6:38 pm #643666I’m glad you are OK. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful! Glad to hear your hubby is doing so well also! I hope his test comes out fine! 😀
December 8, 2007 at 6:42 pm #643667Yeah we packed two bags for the hospital last weekend after our marathon baby clothes wash. He was trying to take the bag with us to the hospital the first time but I kept telling him I wasn’t in labor and we didn’t need it. He has a week long pill box planner so all his meds are set out a week in advance. All he will have to do is grab that when we do go to the hospital. As far as a baby name I think we have settled on Alyssa Janis Kutrick. I like the name Alyssa and it came to me while I was going to visit him in the hospital. Janis was my late grandmothers name so we decided to somehow fit it in there somewhere lol.
December 8, 2007 at 6:49 pm #643668Thats a great name. I am glad you are ok. Its very important to stay hydrated nowadays. I am glad that your hubby is doing well, too. I hope his body has accepted the transplant.

My 13 year old neice is named Allyssa.
It’s a good name, though unfortunately a bit popular, so she may not be the only Alyssa in her classes. You can call her AJ for short! LOL! My son is named Alexander Jacob, but while he could go by AJ, he prefers Alex.
