OMG, I was SO amazed that everyone liked my tiger so much…even more amazed now, because I STILL get people asking to be put on the waiting list! 😯 It just boggles my mind! I mean, sure I liked my tiger griffin…I painted it for myself, so I’ve got to like it! But I NEVER expected the response to him to be so positive. THANKS GUYS! 😀

Aww, my house is a shambles….we moved in almost a year ago and never got completely unpacked. And now we’re moving AGAIN! Eeeep! I’m kind of sick of renting, but hopefully we can buy and settle down in the next couple of years…I can take some pics tomorrow, though. The outside at least looks nice! 🙂 All I can offer right now is a pic of our Christmas tree – It’s my very first tree! Aside from those my parents had when I was a kid I mean…my first tree as an adult, getting it for myself. LOL my husband is Jewish, so we call it our Hanukkah bush. ^_^

Oh, poor Alexander! ;_; He’s been sitting untouched for something like a year…maybe more! As I said above, I’m moving here really soon, so I’m hoping to get him done by next month…if he’s not done before the move, that may be it for him! He’s sculpted in very soft Plastalina clay, which could only be transported in someone’s lap in the car, really…which may not be possible this time. So HOPEFULLY I’ll get him done and cast before then.

He started out as a Shire horse…I don’t know what he turned into! ^_^ He’s just a drafter mutt, I think! My inspiration…Well, I was a huge model horse collector for a while, and have always been interested in sculpting, and big, chunky draft horses are some of my favorite things on earth…put those three together with my having found this wonderful tutorial by a wonderfully talented artist –

– and you get Alexander! ^_^ I got a LOT of really wonderful help on a forum called Fallen Leaves. I definitely couldn’t have gotten as far with him as I did without their help.

I was planning on casting him without his mane and tail so that I could sculpt a few different hair styles on the first few castings…and get the best looking one cast again. But I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that anymore! I was going to do short croped with the tail in a bob, braided mane and tail, and a long and flowing mane and tail…I think I’ll probably just do the long and flowy mane and tail and be done with it. But who knows! We’ll see…

What do you think of that piece in person? Is it as nice as the photos make it look?

That aside if anyone ever wants to trade me for their bronze… XD

ooooh it’s WONDERFUL! I actually only heard about it here on the forum, and I never thought I’d get it, but I won it on ebay sort of by accident! 😳 I put an offer on one that accepted best offer, totally not expecting them to accept, because I was offering several hundred dollars below their asking price…but they accepted! And I was in trouble because I didn’t have the money! XD So I sold the horse resin that was sitting there on that entertainment center (luckily) and put the bronze there instead. Whew! But Anway – it’s an amazing piece, really fantastic. Definitely worth it. And it’s HUGE!! I had no idea how big it was!
Mine came to me all dusty – does anyone have any tips on shining up bronze??
