What happens to your original sculpts once they’ve been cast and produced? I know the sculpture changes as the castings are improved. I was just curious. πŸ˜€ Do you have sculpts like all over your house or what? πŸ˜€

She probably uses them as doorstops. πŸ˜‰

That is a wonderful question. I would also be curious as to what type of changes are made to sculpts over time (even though they look the same). The reason I was wondering is that I showed Melody my white mother unicorn and she said that it was a really old one (it was 10 years old and I hadn’t told her) and she was showing Chessie something on the side. Apparently there are sculpture changes that an untrained eye wouldn’t have noticed.

Didn’t someone say they saw a dragon being used as a doorstop around there once? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

My originals are not good looking things(like yours). They are just a step to get to the final product, so I usually don’t keep them around. I don’t have room, anyway! I’ve kept a few of the nicer ones, such as the rock dragons, but most get boxed and stacked somewhere, or pitched, if they get broken. We have so much stuff!

                  That’s the do-do bird. I also have a cememt knock-off that I use as a doorstop.

I was just wondering, cause I know that with my originals I’m actually much more excited about the cast ones, which I think will look alot better once I get some snags taken care of on them. How on earth did you manage to bake your secret keeper? The sculpy needs baked and I was just contemplating oven size….do you have a super big oven somewhere? πŸ˜†

*gasp* You’ve sculpted a Dodo? Sorry, being a paleontology nut that just caught my ear πŸ™‚ Are there pictures anywhere?

I do, but the secret keeper was done with critter clay. Really big stuff needs to be done in a different clay. The hippogriff is about the biggest thing I’ve done in sculpey.
