MEWW! I was so curious about this one when you first mentioned the name, I am so happy to finally see a photo of it.
So this is not a finished version of the color though? How close is it to what you would like it to be(silly question, I know that may be one that does not have an answer)I really love the idea and seeing the type of colors that may be used for the fire/ice theme.
November 2, 2007 at 12:05 am #493211November 2, 2007 at 12:07 am #633432I think the pictures posted in teh gallery has way too much blue in it. At first I thought it was a pic of a peacock ow until I read the description. I think if you are going to use so much blue he shouldn’t have blue eyes. Those light blue eyes are used way too much on the ow’s imo.

I actualy just read the comments, evidently the photo is of an older version of this coloration…it makes me wonder what the newer version looks like.
I agree, an eye color other then blue, would help set of the fire element in the coloration.
I wish I had my pictures of the seasonal glacier ice we would get in alaska. the colors ranged from yellow/blue/aqua. When air is forced out of the water as it freazes, it turns to a more aqua and is just stunning.
November 2, 2007 at 12:17 am #633434Fire and ice…I also think he has to much blue and need more warm colors on him for the fire part of his name. In the wings and neck area maybe.

I’m trying to paint a dragon using these colors. Sounds easy, but when you are using pigments that don’t work well together, you have problems. I wanted to use the ruby and gold colors we have. It is a matter of experimenting with different pigments to get the right ones.
The dragon in my gallery isn’t peacock blue, it is a color made out of pthalo blue and pearl white. That color just doesn’t go well with gold and red!
This swatch of color looks totally diferent on this computer than my other one.. the colors are fire orange and light yellow, violet and ice blue.
The eyes on these prototype dragons are already glued in, so I just happened to be experimenting with a dragon that was previously painted peacock. My eyecolor choices are red or blue with these guys.November 2, 2007 at 4:27 am #633436Melody wrote:KoishiiKitty wrote:MEWW! The color swatch looks more like what glacier ice looks like in color. Like in this photo:
you swatch has a deeper shade of blue too, are you using more then one type of blue in combination for this coloration?
November 2, 2007 at 4:28 am #633437I think the OW in the gallery is quite beautiful. I do agree that he needs more warmer tones on him… but he is still very pretty.
I’m a huge fan of the Blue VF coloration. I wish more dragons would be done in that.

The darker blue in the swatch is supposed to be violet. My computer is weird with color. The orange should have some yellow in it too. On my laptop here, it appears creamy orange. It is so hard to judge colors on different monitors.
November 2, 2007 at 4:36 am #633439mine looks like that blue….and darker blue..with a creamy orangey red…
I like my monitor on my computer though….it shows colors really well….
and the pic in the gallery is enough to make me want to take another trip to LA…..to search for that dragon….hehe

November 2, 2007 at 6:13 am #633441Mm. I have to say I much prefer the Flame, Ember, Copper Mauve, and basically all the other colors over this one.

Ha! I live in NJ – we consider the speed limit of 65 to be the slowest we should go. If you drive on the parkway or the turnpike you need to go at least 75 not to have someone drive over the top of you. And, although I am not one of those annoying zig zagging drivers, I’m not passed very often! 😈 😆
November 2, 2007 at 8:55 pm #633444Hah now I like him even more Melody!! Pthalo Blue is one of my favourite Blues, and a very pale more white than blue actually is exactly the colour I want for if I have to paint walls “White”
