I think i went and broke my thumb… with my teeth. I was munching on french fries at In N Out and I wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing and I bit my thumb …Hard. Now my thumb hurts whenever I touch something with it.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

Engaged to a WeaselOctober 31, 2007 at 9:41 pm #632868wow….I will remember to never come near you when you’re eating….. 😯
I doubt it’s broken though…cause you wouldn’t really be able to move it…..you might have bruised the tendon in it though….that would make it feel just as bad as if you broke it….
October 31, 2007 at 9:46 pm #632869😯 Um, how hard to you have to bite down on fries? I’ve had some tough steak before, but fries? 😆
Sorry ’bout your thumb. Sending bandaids & chocolate malt.

I doubt it’s broken too…but you did bruised it well. So yes it will be extremely sensitive for the week to come.
October 31, 2007 at 10:53 pm #632871I’m sorry… but I laughed when I read this!
But the others are right; you probably bruised something. Give it a few days and it should get better.
And take you time when you eat!

Hope you feel better soon. 😉
November 1, 2007 at 2:07 am #632873Yeah, you bruised it. That can sting like a real biznatch.
Just one question though… Did anyone see you do this? 😆
November 1, 2007 at 2:54 am #632874OUCH! I hope that it heals soon!
November 1, 2007 at 6:23 am #632875Sorry, BPB. I had to laugh too. But I hope it heals soon.
November 1, 2007 at 6:50 am #632876Me, too, but I sure did snicker. That joke about pulling back a bloody nub entered my mind.
November 1, 2007 at 9:36 am #632877I was eating with my father but he didn’t see it. He just looked at me funny when i cried out in pain.I figure that this makes me a genius in some way. I mean how many people can say they accidentally bit their own thumb. The odd thing is that it isn’t bruised or swollen. It just hurts really bad whenever i put pressure on it.

When you bruise the muscel or bone, it usually doesn’t bruise right away… sometimes the bruise will show up in a few days… or not at all. If it was broken it WOULD be swollen!!! In a few more days it should start feeling better.
Its almost like shutting your finger in a car door. 😯 OUCH!
November 1, 2007 at 3:54 pm #632880Jeepers, remind me to never threaten your food! 😉 But seriously, I’m sorry to hear about your accident. 🙁 It’s hard to say without an actual X-ray–and an M.D.–but generally a broken bone will trigger a lot of swelling. And although crazy things happen, it sure seems like a bite with enough force to fracture the bone should have also had enough force to do crush damage to the skin and tissues . . . damage that would be visible. If there’s still no swelling, then you might have pinched the living daylights out of a nerve. Regarding tendons: Does it hurt when you flex or extend your thumb, or only when you press on something with your thumb?
