I have a question…is this a Freaky-Eyed Spectral. I am considering getting it and I can’t remember what happened with the Freaky Eyed bunch. Was it the first batch of Spectrals and how do you tell?
Thanks, Kaya

Only the first batch white sitting spectral had this mistake. I can’t really tell from your photo, maybe frozen can since he has one! 🙂Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
My art: featherdust.comOctober 20, 2007 at 12:43 am #627920I have one of the first, my albino 😆 . It is hard to tell a difference even next to the white riser but the riser is darker and slightly more reflective. When you look closely especially at the edges you can tell if they have been painted black or not.

October 20, 2007 at 1:41 am #627922When I look at mine straight on (with him looking straight at me with both eyes) he looks just like Frozen’s from that other thread. Just so everyone knows… the Spectral in the photo of this thread is mine. I wasn’t sure if it was one of those freaky eyed ones or not though. I thought I remembered Melody saying that all the ones from the first batch had that mistake. This one came from the first batch. There has only been one batch so far right?
Anyway, you can definitely see how dark the eyes are on the riser compared to the sitter in Frozen’s pic from the show your collection thread.

YEP!!
October 20, 2007 at 4:23 am #627925as far as I can see it is one of the ones with the light colored background in the eyes….
to me it’s not freaky….I love it….
it’s so wild looking compared to the black….
LOL
October 20, 2007 at 5:22 am #627926I think it is such a beautiful dragon in the white. The photo didn’t really capture the usual bright pinkish white that reflects off them.

October 20, 2007 at 3:55 pm #627928That looks like it has black behind the eyes, but if it came from the first batch, it’ll most likely be “freaky-eyed.”
October 21, 2007 at 6:26 pm #627929I asked Melody what the best way is to tell the normal Spectral eyes from the “freaky eyes”. She said that you need to look in the eye sockets of the dragon. The eyelid rims will have dark grey paint on them. I checked mine, and it does not have the dark grey paint. They are completely white in there… so mine would qualify as a “freaky eyed” one.
She also said that she thinks only 15 of those mistakes were made.
October 21, 2007 at 7:11 pm #627930I’m one of the weirdos that doesn’t like the spectral eyes – I’ve got one of the freaky eyed whites, and I really like the way it makes the eye look BETTER than the normal black socketed eyes…I think my freaky eyed sitter is very pretty!
