I say no. What if I drew a winged cat outta my own head? Would that be consided a copy?

As small as it is, I bet it wasn’t easy caving it out of wax before casting it into silver!

That’s a cute charm! Not sure if I would call it copied from a flap cat though.

Naw, I don’t think so. It’s just a winged cat.

I don’t think so either. I mean it is sitting like a flap cat… but I don’t think it was intentional to make it look like one.

It reminds me alot of the WINGED GOOD CAT CANDLELAMP. The shape of the wings are the same as is the stance.
                  Here is another picture.

It kind of does… why don’t you just send it to John?

I definitely see the resemblance, but I think it’s more of a case of, ‘hey that candle cat in the store looks cool, I kinda wanna make a pendant like that!’ Enough of it looks original, and I don’t think you can copyright on a generic sitting cat pose.

I was looking at the wings when I saw this, the patern is too close to me. Should I email John about it? :?…just need to find his email 🙄

Hey, this is absolutely a knockoff. No two people are going to come up with the same exact proportions for the cat and wings, as well as the same number of feathers and the same curves. I’m really surprised that you guys didn’t all agree on this one! Please send me the link to where it’s sold. Thanks much.

I was going to say the same thing… the feathers are almost identical. That would be a pretty rare coincidence.

They copied it right down to the number of feathers? That is cheating. On the other hand, there’s only so many ways to put wings on a seated cat: spread, folded open (like this one) or folded closed.

                          Here it is John:

It was the wings that alerted me. Like you mentioned that curve is typical to Windstone.
                          Thanks 😀

Now I can definitely see the resemblance to the candlelamp cat. I thought BDW was talking about it looking like a flapcat. The charm does have that plump build and same wing design as the candlelamp.
