From start (molding) to finish (painting) approx. how long does it take to finish a small dragon and a large dragon?
Melody talks about that in this article.
I also seem to recall that Melody said it took about a year to finish the work on the Secret Keeper, though she was also working on other things during that time.

I haven’t kept track of actual number of hours it takes. In real time an average sized dragon (male size) may take over a year from beginning to finished production piece. That is if I am able to work on it actively, or if I have a full time assistant, and we aren’t backed up in the mold dept. Lately things have been much much slower! I haven’t even attempted another full sized dragon since the Secret Keeper.
Feathers and fur creatures are a little quicker to finish.
