Why? Because I apparently like to sabotage myself. I must think I have too much money, or too many unbroken Windstones, or maybe not enough fur on my clothes. Anyway, he is a 4mo. grey/white tabby. I got him from the stray facility in K-town. Cost me $80, but he is already neutered/vaccinated/chipped. He is mean….has apparently been there since he was 4 days old. Very hissy and loves to scratch. Spent last night under a towel in his cage and has not come out to eat or use the bathroom. I am sure he will warm up eventually. I will take pictures when I get a chance to breath. I was at work till 9pm last night and didnt get time to do anything except drive to pick up the cat and take him home. Rough day… anyway… I am a little worried that I made an impulsive mistake… but I guess we shall see.

I’m sure he will be fine after he gets to know you, your family and the house. How old is he??

4 months DM. Um, congrats! πŸ˜† I love cats, can’t seem to live without them. Hopefully your Windstones will survive teething.

You are good-hearted to have adopted him
πŸ˜€ Maybe he is so hissy because he smells the dogs? I’m sure he’ll warm up eventually…I can’t wait to see pix. I love cats and I love to see everyones’ babies.

Congrats! I hope he doesn’t make too much a of a nuiscance of himself. What’s K-town?

Kaiserslaughtern. Doesnt that mean something like king killer?

Hahaha! No! “Kaiser” is emperor and “Lauter” is the name of the river that flows through it.
K-town. I love it. I’ll be laughig over that for the rest of the day.

Laughing at my lamentable German or the nickname? πŸ˜†

Congrat Ski and good luck. I hope none of your Windstones don’t get their noses chewed off. I also hope your cat and bunny dont get into a fight.

I’m sure your kitty will warm up to you soon. My brother-in-law got a kitten from a co-worker 2 years ago. It spent about 2 days straight hiding behind his chair before getting up the courage to start coming out to explore. Though his cat seems to have gotten meaner as he got older. We think it’s cause he waited so long to get him neutered. πŸ™„ I think he would have been better off getting a turtle or something.

Congrats on getting a new kitty though. I wonder if you can train cats to stay away from your prized Windstone possessions? πŸ˜†

Congrats! Let us know how he does and if he mellows out. πŸ™‚ Oh, and we definately need pics of him too. πŸ˜‰

New places are always scarey. My cats spent several days hiding in closets and behind doors when I moved into a new house, and they were already part of the family.

Just feed him and talk to him. Once his curiousity gets the better of him, then you can start petting him. The trick that I learned is to stop petting before they want you to. It leaves them with a “I like this” feeling rather than a “I’ve had enough, let me go” feeling. Probably sounds odd, but it worked with my kittens when they were young and skittish.

Aw, congrats! Hopefully he’ll sweeten up once he feels comfortable. (Or you’ll end up w/a cat that makes you appreciate your other animals πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜† ) Def post pics!
