“These Old Warriors are limited production items, only available direct from Windstone.”
I bought mine at a retail store in Placerville. For less than what Windstone’s Store sells him for. Was it at one time sold generally?September 30, 2007 at 5:50 am #622113Yes, the Ruby OWs were once a regular production item. Then Windstone retired them and made them in limited production pieces. It’s a bit confusing, and I can’t think of any other color/sculpt combo they’ve done that with.

They didn’t retire them and then make more as LE- Windstone never makes more of something it retires. I think that they either A. Stopped selling them wholesale/to retail because they didn’t sell well, and changed them to Limited Production for the remaining collectors that might want one, or B. Retired them, and were selling the remaining stock as Limited Production (they do this with retired stuff sometimes, to sell off the rest of the stock). I just can’t remember which… I’d have to ask Melody. π

And “Mad Things” also sells a bunch of them (higher priced, though).

No worries! I just didn’t want anyone to think that Windstone would make more of anything they retire- they don’t. π (Thisis more for other’s info than yours, I know you likely know all this π )
They may make more of that sculpt, but in a different color… or more of that color, in a different sculpt, but never the exact thing they’ve retired.
i.e. The dragons they released back in the 80’s in the ‘old green’ have all been retired of course. They will never make another male, mother, hatching, young, emperor, etc… in the ‘Old’ green color again. But they can still produce males in any other color that are not retired… and they can make more “old” green Windstones on sculpts that they didn’t use and retire before (which is why they could do the ‘old’ green hatchies a little while ago!). π
