What is your favorite thing about being a parent? Most embarrasing parent moment?
September 29, 2007 at 2:30 pm #621535Oops!! I missed this yesterday!!! Sorry, Ski!! π³
Let’s see…..my favorite thing about being a parent is watching my son grow and being involved in all the various phases and interests in his life. It seems like just yesterday it was Pokemon cards and now it’s cell phones, Halo 3 and the “right kind” of shoes for school!!! Quite the change!!! π He’s developing into a decent, smart, well-rounded, hardworking guy….I couldn’t ask for a better son!!! Can you tell I’m proud of him? π
Most embarrassing parent moment? I have two:
One of the grocery stores that we go to has an emergency exit in between the in/out automatic doors. When Sean was in first grade, he became really interested in that door and finally one day, he got ahead of me and went through it!!! Well, of course the alarm went off and people wanted to know what happened… π³ π He never did that again!! πΏ
The second embarrassing thing involved his power wheels when he was 3 years old. My parents gave it to him for his birthday. A day or so after he got it, he was driving it on the driveway and sidewalk when he got the idea in his head that since it was a truck, he should be driving it in the street. He wouldn’t stop, so when he was most of the way out into the street, I grabbed onto the back end of the thing and held onto it yelling at him to stop. All he did was laugh and press harder on the accelerator. Of course cars were driving by and everyone was staring at us!!! Finally, he stopped and got out….guess who didn’t get to ride his power wheels again for a long time. πΏ
Anyone else want to share their most embarrassing child related incident? π
September 29, 2007 at 2:35 pm #621536Hahaha! That last incident is hilarious! π
Its great that Sean is such a good kid! π
September 29, 2007 at 2:46 pm #621537I don’t have any kids, but I have a story that my mom likes to tell.
My mom used to make corned beef hash for dinner. It comes in a can and Mom would spread it out in a pan, lay slices of pineapple on top and bake it.
I was at the doctor one day (I don’t remember why) and he asked me what I had for dinner the day before. I said, “I don’t know what it is, but it looks like dog food with pineapple on top”.
September 29, 2007 at 3:19 pm #621538π π π That’s a good one!!!
September 29, 2007 at 3:21 pm #621539Hahaha! Tintaglia, that’s too good! π π
September 29, 2007 at 4:14 pm #621540π Too funny! Corned been hash is nasty stuff!
I used to tell Justin I was going to beat him whenever he misbehaved. One day at the checkout in Walmart, he did something and I told him I was gonna beat him. I grabbed his butt and started running around screaming (At the top of his little lungs mind you) “DONT BEAT ME MOMMY DONT BEAT ME!!!” Yeah… that was fun.
September 29, 2007 at 4:45 pm #621541Eeekk!!! I bet that was a lot of fun!!! π―
September 29, 2007 at 7:28 pm #621542Here is my “kids say the darndest things” story.
I hunt and when my son was about 4 he would watch as we skinned the deer. One day we were hiking and out of the blue he says…..Mommy, when I die, will you skin me? π― He said it very matter of factly. When I told him no, we don’t do that to people, he asked why not πSeptember 29, 2007 at 7:33 pm #621543Those are good stories… π
