As most of you know, the Emerald Coiled Momma went for $455 and I lost. My highest bid was $450 because I was curious how high the other bidder was going to go….
So tonight, I got an email….
Kaya: I have found in my storage, another small mother (Jade color) Dragon with the golden egg. I did notice that you had bid $450.00 for the 1st one. I sold it for $455.00, would you like the other one, for your bid of $450.00 ? I am sure I don’t have another one.
Please let me know, and how we would do the transaction. Thanks for your interest in my items.I told him that I would be willing to pay $300.
I am curious, comments? Do you believe this? Is this a scam? He is a new ebay seller…..
What do all of you think?September 25, 2007 at 1:31 am #492732September 25, 2007 at 1:34 am #620153Could be a scam, or schill bidding. Tell him you’ll only buy it (if you really do want it) if he posts it as a BIN and gives you the link. Don’t buy it from him outside of eBay (it’s actually against eBay’s rules that he offered it to you that way).

My art: featherdust.comSeptember 25, 2007 at 1:35 am #620154To make it legit, they can offer it to you in a private auction thru ebay with a BIN price. I would also get pics. π
September 25, 2007 at 1:42 am #620155I don’t know that sounds a little weird to me. Is it possible to find out if it is a case of schilling?
September 25, 2007 at 1:44 am #620156Very wise guys, I’ve seen scams similar to this one and you should be careful keschete.
September 25, 2007 at 1:57 am #620157Was this the guns2324 fellow who also had the peacock oriental we had a little bidding war over, Keschete?
If it is, he’s been super communicative with the dragon I won and said he would double box and ship today. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough if that’s true.
Best of luck, whatever you decide to do.

Yep, same guy. He seems nice and he seems honest…
I just didn’t want to get into a bad situation…
I am glad you won the Oriental. I actually have a dark peacock, but the lighter one is actually prettier and I really wanted her. Sorry I pushed the price up, I was hoping I would get it for $200.
I told him that $450 was too high and offered him $300. So we will see what happens, if it is legit then I will ask him to do a BIN.
September 25, 2007 at 2:05 am #620159Hee, don’t worry about it. π It’s ebay, it happens. I sent you a PM you might be interested in.

Sometime when they communicate too much it can be a bad indication. Sorry have to say this. I was having trouble with a seller about not receiving some fossils I had ordered and I opened a dispute after two months. They communicated with me through out the dispute said they would verify with the post office since I had paid insurance(they never gave me the number I needed for the insurance). Meanwhile since they were communicating so well I trusted them. When the time was up for the dispute and could no longer put a claim on them, they totaly ignored me would not answer my calls or emails. I phone the post office they were dealing with and the clerk said he knew them and that they never made an insurance claim, not there or any other post office (he verified). That seller lied to me the whole time and πΏ I can’t do anything about it. So I learned a lesson that day about trusting. So please be careful. π―September 25, 2007 at 2:11 am #620161Rusti wrote:Hee, don’t worry about it. π It’s ebay, it happens. I sent you a PM you might be interested in.
I know how it is..hehe, I found a hidden Emerald Hatching Empress and of course Ski found it too and I had to fend her off. I always end up cursing and muttering and then laughing….especially because Ski is such an Ebay hound..she finds EVERYTHING!
Though I did get a Galapagos Tortoise for $5 that she didn’t see……hehehehe
I have to brag though, I snapped up an Emerald Hatching Emperor for $124.00 BIN today…hehehe
I NEED TO JUST QUIT MY JOB AND EBAY ALL DAY….Of course then I couldn’t afford Windstones π
September 25, 2007 at 2:13 am #620162Congrats keschete! π

I do appreciate where you’re coming from, but I’m not getting a bad vibe just yet. I paid with paypal, so if something goes wrong I can dispute it and get my money back. π Then I’ll only be out the oriental and I’ll just have to wait a little while longer.
I’d say 90% of the folks on ebay are pretty decent, it’s just the other 10% that makes it difficult to fully trust.
If all goes well, I’ll be able to post pics of the full set of Orientals when it gets here.

I should have specified, sorry, I had meant this for keschete. Hope all goes well for you too. πSeptember 25, 2007 at 2:24 am #620165Ah, sorry BDW. π You had quoted my post so I thought you were talking to me.
And yeah, Keschete, I just don’t have time to sit on ebay and snap up the insane BIN deals that show up and are gone in minutes. My instructors might get upset if they caught me cruising ebay on my laptop instead of following along in Dreamweaver. ;P
Cursing and muttering and laughing definitely do enter the equation. I must admit I was determined not to lose that dragon to you. ;D
