Hi Maya! I have to say, I love your work, especially the candle lamps, and the “maternal” pieces, but I have to ask, are they supposed to be, anotomical? kind of a subliminal referance to the core of femininty similar to Georgia O’Keefe’s florals? or am I just seeing them from a diffrent perspective?

Thank you for seeing my sculptures the way you do. When we look deeply into the patterns of nature, the human body, a sea shell or flowers, we can recognize an incredibly awe inspiring perfection. Something reveals itself and resonates with us that is greater than we are and at the same time so simply part of all of us. Much of my motivation to sculpt is to merge these patterns into my figurines. I believe there is a way to translate these universal patterns not only into the expression of the physical form, but also into emotional intelligence and much more.
