Hi, it’s Nicole, speaking for Phoenix Tears while she is out of commission (though she is coming home soon).
Let me get to the point. There is an eBay listing for a Lot of 2 peacock hatching Emperor and Empress.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-Emperor-and-Empress-Dragons_W0QQitemZ300142719716QQihZ020QQcategoryZ35873QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It did not sell the first time around. I’m assuming that’s because many want just one of those and not both.A UK forum member here contacted Phoenix Tears about several things. But because that seller doesn’t ship outside the US, she is out of luck on her Hatching Peacock Emperor.
What I was hoping to do (which is in line with Phoenix Tears’ thinking), would be to find someone specific here that wants the Hatching Empress of that lot, while the Hatching Emperor would go to the UK member. I would bid on that auction, pay them, receive the 2 hatchers, get reimbursed by this UK forum member and the other forum member that would want the Empress, and once actual shipping to you is paid up, I’d send out those pieces to those 2 people.
Is this making any sense? It would be nice for Phoenix Tears and I to be able to help a UK (or anyone outside OR inside the US if you are), be able to get a piece they want without having to bid on the 2 lot.
So, the Hatching Emperor is spoken for via this UK forum member as I would do her bidding. But to make it work out best, it would be ideal to find someone here that is looking for the mate in that auction, the Hatching Empress. I win, I pay, you fully reimburse including shipping, and I mail the Emperor to the UK and the Empress to whomever is working with me.
Does anyone get the gist of what I’m trying to do here? If you’re interested, please review the auctions details and then give me a limit of how much you would be willing to pay for the Empress. If more than one person contacts me about this, gee, I don’t know how I’d go about who I’d choose. But seeing as this is eBay, I’d have to guess that it would be the person that is willing to offer the most for the Empress.
The auction ends Wednesday, so time is of the essence. Let me know and we’ll see how we can work this out so that perhaps 2 forums members can get the 2 pieces that are being forced into this eBay lot sale.
Thank you,
NicoleAugust 19, 2007 at 6:50 am #492349August 19, 2007 at 7:27 am #609505i was concidering bidding myself because i want the eperor i alreayd have 2 empress’s in peacock ! lol
August 19, 2007 at 2:14 pm #609506pm’ed ya.
August 19, 2007 at 4:07 pm #609507She wont ship to the UK? Oh that sucks i was going to bid on them. Im going to have to persuade her 😕
August 20, 2007 at 3:11 am #609508Hi all, it’s me and Im home. But I want to address this auction as soon as possible since it ends in 2 days.
Im sure you all know by now, but there is a bid on it already (Bidder 1, so we dont know whom). AND- Griffiness, perhaps you did persuade her cause the seller has now included info and prices for shipping to the UK and Canada.
Having said that, you guys might want to post your thoughts in here such as “I want the Emperor and will someone want the Empress and for how much, if I win the auction?” The fact that seller is now shipping outside of the US really takes me out of having to be in the middle as a proxy. Not that I wouldnt have been happy to be there. But Nicole (and on my behalf) was doing it because there was someone in the UK that is interested in the hatching emperor but not the empress. So, if you guys can communicate in here or PMs once you find a partner, you might be able to have one of you bid on the auction (so youre not bidding against one another!), win, get both pieces, get payment from your forum partner for the mate you dont want, and send it out.
Make any sense? As for prices, I dont know how much either would go for. I know there is a database of likely prices about the pieces but I can say there is a BIN in a store on eBay for that empress for $159. High, yes. Being that the seller set a starting price of $200, Id assume she was hoping $100 each, at least. I dont know which piece would be considered more valuable however, my two cents is that Ive seen the peacock hatching emperor around a lot more than the empress. Again, I cant say for sure, but I think the empress will go for more than $75, which was an offer mentioned.
Again, thats where forum member partnering and communication would come in here if youre hoping for one of the pieces and not both. It would be cool for 2 forum members to get tyhe piece they both want from one auction… one that I dont believe should have been put into a Lot.
My bottomline IF Im going to be a proxy, is that I have someone interested in the Emperor. I would need someone that is interested in the Empress for at least $95. Combine that with the emperor, it would barely make a next bid (none of this includes actual shipping so consider that if you are working this with me or anyone).
Hope this makes sense. Nicole’s heart was in the right place and if I was feeling better, Id have made this same offer she did for you guys. But Im just not up to complete snuff though I would still do my best if I have very firm and realistic offers to go to bat for you in this auction.
If youre going to PM me, only PM with with what you would be willing to pay for the EMPRESS. This whole partnering thing came about because someone wanted the Emperor and not the Empress. So she would need the good home and Id be more comfortable bidding if I knew that the Empress would be going to someone, and not left with me to resell. I feel like Im going in circles. I hope this makes sense!
August 20, 2007 at 3:28 am #609509*hugs* to PT. Glad you are back. You are right in thinking the hatching emperor is less common on ebay than the empress. There have only been 14 mint hatching emperors since October 2006. Average price is $122.11 (low was $61; high was $169.99).In that same time there has been 21 hatching empresses. Average price was $89.40 (low was $41; high was $129.99).
August 20, 2007 at 3:40 am #609510Glad you are home and allright! Glad you are feeling good enough to post!
I need a Peacock Emperor, so you will be bidding against me. The last set went for $300….
I may have an Empress for sale soon…sorry, but I gotta have him!
Everyone seems to have an Empress….unfortunately.
August 20, 2007 at 4:30 am #609511Actually, I said I thought the hatching Emperor was more common than the Empress since Ive seen him around more. I can admit when Im wrong if the numbers show such.
Oh forgetaboutit! If Keschete is bidding, Im so out! 😆 My heart cant take getting into a bidding war with you! I wouldnt be able to front that kind of money that I know you would go to, should you get into battle.
Also, for anyone, dont forget that Ruffian is selling her peacock family. Both the hatching emperor and empress are in her photos so Im assuming they are up for grabs and best offers.
Check the flea market
http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4538OH- and thank you for the welcome back and such kind thoughts! It’s all very much appreciated more than I can express on a message board.
Big hugs!

Where in the world were you when I was selling MY Hatching Peacock Emperor?!?! Mind you, I got a very lovely price for him and couldnt have been more pleased but K, the way you go after pieces you must have, maybe I could have benefited from your striking oil or hitting the lotto! I say youre probably a famous actress that makes millions for each movie dealBut let me be perfectly clear as I do not want to offend the person who bought my hatch pea emperor… I LOVE her to death and she did make an offer I couldnt refuse. Im SOOOO happy he went to her home because she is full of positive energy and is just a down right lovely soul. I only made the above comment I did because Keschete will shut anyone down when it comes to getting a piece she really wants. Hence, it would have been neat to be on the side where I was selling something that she wanted, rather than running scared to go after anything that she is involved in buying or bidding or offering on!
Might not have come out right, but this is compliments all around so dont look for anything else!
August 20, 2007 at 9:10 am #609513The hatching emperor is worth more because that sculpt was retired. The peacock empress was (And may still be) available in stores until the peacock retired recently. 🙂 You wont see the empress on Ebay as often since they were still in stores pretty cheap.
August 20, 2007 at 1:40 pm #609514Come on now Phoenix Tears….plenty of people on here have snipped me 🙂 I certainly don’t win everything I bid on 🙂
I wasn’t trying to scare you off! I actually enjoy a good bidding war 🙂
I bought a new small corner curio for my breakfast room…so I can put all my curlies and fledgies, so I have some room now to get the rest of the royal hatchers….
I am sorry, didn’t see you had one for sale 🙂 Otherwise I would have offered for him. 🙂 Ohh and I am not an actress, I wish. I am actually in the medical field 🙂 and my husband sells cars…no kids 🙂

When I had the money, I wasnt scared of a bidding war. At this point, my heart literally cant handle the adrenaline that is inherant in such wars. You didnt scare me off; I was just playing with you like a drunk kitten 😀 As for being sniped, etc., I wouldnt know because the auctions you go for wind up shutting out ppl and allow us only to see “Bidder 1”, etc. So while I may have seen that you were bidding on something, after $200 it doesnt let me see who is getting sniped. I guess you made a large impression on me because when I first joined here back in May, you were going full force for the horses on eBay and I was intimidated. Im not ashamed to admit… as much as I know youre a great PERSON… you still make me quake in my boots a bit. Thank goodness youre a a kind soul. But at least if you werent, it would be easy to dislike you! 😈keschete wrote:I am actually in the medical field 🙂 and my husband sells cars…no kids 🙂
NO KIDS?!?! Bite your tongue! Just because they are funny colors, hard as stone and usually have scales or fur doesnt mean they arent to be considered KIDS! 😛 😛 😆
August 20, 2007 at 10:49 pm #609516I have 4 of those kids. 4 legged kitties!!
