So I picked up a Brown Mother on eBay with a BIN of $65, I thought she would look good with the Emperor and Male. When I paid for the item I specifically stated:
Quote:I’d like to ask you to please package the dragon in a decent size box tightly with packing peanuts so she doesn’t get destroyed in transit. I’ve had a couple of dragons damaged in transit due to boxes being too small or just being packed too loosely in the box.
Well as soon as I picked up the package at the PO I knew I didn’t want to open it. As Jo handed me the box I could hear something slide…packed way too loosely. So I waited until I got home from work to pop open the box. Sure enough there’s about 1 1/2″ of dead space in the top of the box and a couple inches of dead Dragon in the bottom of the box 🙄
So I snapped a picture (seen below) and e-mailed the seller today to see how this is going to turn out.
If the seller doesn’t want her returned is anyone here interested in her?
To the faint of heart and week stomached people please stop scrolling now…
There’s actually another piece completely cracked off of the tail but it’s being held together by the felt pad…

August 16, 2007 at 3:27 pm #608588How sad!! I like the old browns. If no one else wants her, I’d take her and try and fix her.

My art: featherdust.comAugust 16, 2007 at 3:40 pm #608589I would name her Marie Antoinette, the poor dear. I bet someone on here could make her look like new.
August 16, 2007 at 3:43 pm #608590Aagghh! Poor, poor, dragon! I’m so sorry. 🙁
August 16, 2007 at 3:56 pm #608591Sorry about the Brown Mother. She looked pretty too.
When you asked the seller about packaging was it when you sent your payment or a seperate eBay email? I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve left a note when I sent payment only to have it ignored. I’ve noticed sellers often times don’t see notes left for them via PayPal (if that’s how you paid).
August 16, 2007 at 4:17 pm #608592Well that was the quickest response I’ve ever received to a complaint. She already refunded it as well!
Apparently she had the people at the store box it up for her because she thought they would do a better job then her. I advised her she may want to think twice before having them pack up anything else fragile.
Anyway I’ll move the beheaded beauty over to the Flea Market now… 🙄
August 16, 2007 at 4:26 pm #608593Wow. Talk about inept packers at the store she went to. I hope she goes and complains. My mom sent me some software once. The person at the store told her they would put some packing material around it. When I got the box there was nothing in it but the software. That really annoyed her because she had paid for the packing matriels when she paid to have the software shipped to me.

I did ask her via the PayPal payment, which typically I don’t do because I know those messages are commonly ignored. I usually e-mail the seller directly, not through eBay because those seem to be ignored as well.
She did read it however, that’s why she had someone else pack it up. Funny thing is they even enclosed a copy of my PayPal payment with my request right in front of them 🙄
August 16, 2007 at 4:52 pm #608595That makes it even sadder then.
August 16, 2007 at 7:12 pm #608596Poor girl! She’s definitely fixable though. Those nice big chunks are much easier to deal with than the powdered flecks that much of the lower part of my emperor has been reduced to 🙁 I’d love the chance to fix her up! I’ll PM you.
Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
August 16, 2007 at 8:09 pm #608597Aw poor, poor dragon. I had a shipping casulity as well. I got a hatching gargoyle and they just shipped it in a plastic bag and then put it in a box and it was crammed in the mail box. I do hope the seller responds. I think I am still going to put her on the naughty list.
August 16, 2007 at 9:09 pm #608598I’m so sorry for her and you!!
August 16, 2007 at 9:53 pm #608599Dragoness, I saw the the words “had a shipping casualty” in your message and I just about had heart failure.
Just seems to be a rash of ‘shipping casualties’ in the message threads lately.
