Anyone ever regret buying a Windstone? Or anything else for that matter?
That’s probably a silly question…I’m sure we all have!
I just won the 6th intense violet empea lap dragon – and it’s a piece that I really want, so I don’t feel too badly about it – but I try very hard to look for deals…if I’m buying one of the limited or numbered things, I usually have pretty good luck at getting one of the lower priced ones. This time, I think I’ve paid the most of any of them sold so far! >_< It makes me feel kind of foolish. Especially since one of them went for under $200…
oh well. As I said, I really want it so I don’t regret buying it…I just regret my timing, I guess! Anyone else have similar remorse?

I know exactly how you feel! I won the #1 eyes shut orange tabby for $510, and all of the subsequent ones went for significantly less — the lowest priced one went for $280. So yeah…I felt kind of silly too… 😳

But then again, I won the #12 eyes shut grey tabby for $510, which turned out to to be the lowest priced one (highest priced one was $1084). So I guess it all evens out. 🙂

I have feelings like that all the time. I always feel silly after spending any significant amount of money.
Right now I’m actually going through a phase like that. Wolfen introduced me to one of her acquaintances, who turned out to be the coolest guy I ever met. He loves guns, like I do, and so I was entertaining the idea of how much my collection might go for if I decided to ditch the dragons and go for more guns. After all, I use my guns, and they don’t just sit around, and maybe it wasn’t such a great idea to spend to much on Windstones… That sort of thing.
It didn’t last too long, of course. Maybe later.
As is, though, I am reconsidering sniping the current gold Riser…

Yeah. I regret buying my White Young Dragon. I paid a lot for it (read, no patience) and now can’t sell it for what I paid for it, or anywhere close to it. Some have been going on Ebay for a whole lot less lately, and I feel like I’m going to get stuck with it forever. And I don’t like it. I just don’t like the white on dragons. Sigh.

Yep, I try to take the buyer’s remorse lesson to heart and be careful now, but it’s still easy to get carried away sometimes. When I was a kid I bought a bunch of junk on vacation (my first vacation away from my parents) and of course, spent all my money on crap I didn’t care about… so now I tend to walk away from stuff and regret not buying it! Ironically, a combination of events led me to my most recent partial remorse: I bought the ruby lap from windstone when ordering the emerald & brown curlies. (Their store said they had 2 left, so I thought they were about to be gone for good 🙁 ) Anyway, then they had a bunch again, and my local dealer got one in his store, and I felt sooooo bad for not ordering it through him that I had him order the gold sitting spectral for me, which I’m still not sure if I should’ve gotten it. (I love the sculpture, but not the eyes, and I’m torn on the gold color on him.) Ah well! At least I finally have that pose! Gonna focus on PYOs for awhile and start squeaking for things to come.

I know I should have waited to buy a bvp ow when they were cheaper (I just know they will be) but hey you only live once!

            #605851

I was a little remorseful that I paid all that money for #23 BEP OW and then he showed up at my house and that was it….no more remorse from me….

Someone will have to pry him from my cold dead hands to get me to give him up. I honestly don’t like the BVP’s quite as much….

I hope some Secret Keepers show up in some more dark colors…or even silver….

And I really want a dark calico flap cat…I missed the last one by $5 cause I wasn’t home when the auction ended….crud!

I can’t justify buying something for as much as they go on ebay 😕 Can’t do it. I think “$2000/$500 for a sculpture?
I REALLY want a Peacock Riser, but it’s hard to make myself justify spending so much on a sculpture…
However, if I can pay something off in a payment plan I am more likely to buy it.

Buyers remorse? More often than I would like to admit. 😕

I try to turn it into something useful rather than getting down about it. I have purchased a couple of Windstones and other other things that just didn’t live up to my expectations. I may have taken a hit for getting rid of them, but I try to think about where I went wrong and not do it again.

The other thing to think about is all the things you got for a really good deal, or that you really liked more than you expected. If you look at the bigger picture, you are actually ahead more than you think.

Hey, that’s definitely true – I think it really does even out. I’ve gotten plenty of really great deals on Windstones in my time! And over paying by $100 or so isn’t as big a tragedy as it could be…especially since I think this lap really is worth $300 to me. ;D Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone, guys! And for making me feel better, too! ^_^

It’s only $238. I bet you’ve already spent that much on Windstones.

Yes, but not on one sculpture. That’s really what I’m saying. I can’t justify spending that much on a single sculpture (like how much these limited ones go for on ebay). Multiple ones yes 😉
I’ll get him, I will. Just have to wait till all these recent bills are paid and my money funds are back up 😀 It’s like… August just bombarded me with every bill possible 😆

Sounds like you spent as much as I did on my intense em-pea lap dragon. I have to admit I was feeling a little remorse over spending so much myself. But I have to admit I feel better after reading this thread and knowing I’m not alone.

While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

Yeah – if you’re the other person that paid around $300, you definitely shouldn’t feel bad – I paid $10 more than you! 😉 You and I will just have the prettiest ones. ^_^
