I think I might have run across an old Tortoise, #105. Did you have the Pena year mark on these old pieces? How can I tell if it is a Windstone.
Nambroth said I should ask you…
Thanks in advance…..
I did look at this picture and still couldn’t be sure.

July 30, 2007 at 5:54 am #604253Could you send me, or post a picture of it? It should have Pena 1984 on it somewhere. It might have a black ink stamp right on the bottom , or might not. Those had no pads.

July 30, 2007 at 2:12 pm #604255I’d really like to know how you stumbled across that, keschete. 😛
July 30, 2007 at 5:21 pm #604256I want some of those peices too…
July 30, 2007 at 5:59 pm #604257Please share! I want to see, too! 😀
PS That armadillo is adorable.
July 30, 2007 at 8:20 pm #604258These are the animals I put in the wanted thread of PTs. I was gonna say I know someone bought the armadillo off of ebay, but I can’t remember who it was. I wish I bought a bobcat when Windstone was selling them.
July 31, 2007 at 1:56 am #604259Are those pics to scale? If so, then the lion is as big as the mother dragon! I thought he was smaller for some reason.
July 31, 2007 at 4:03 am #604260I remember those animals. I wish I bought a few of them. I’ve been haunting antique vendors and stores, trying to find a few of them. I do know there were some sold in Kitchener, so maybe something will show up someday….
August 2, 2007 at 2:01 pm #604261The turtle I found wasn’t a Windstone…on close examination of the pictures, the feet were not in the correct position.
I keep looking….I want the turtle and the armadillo. Maybe someday I will find them….
I did find the old hatching Tortoise…he isn’t in perfect shape, but good enough for the $5 I paid for him.
August 2, 2007 at 5:16 pm #604262I’m dying for that armadillo O.O I’ve been in love since I saw one at the Windstone factory. ;_;
August 2, 2007 at 6:18 pm #604263Yes! The armadillow is ADORABLE…I also really like the pig and the toad. ^_^
Melody – have you ever considered producing any of these animals again, maybe in different colors?? The armadillo especially seems popular enough to make a very successful come back! What was he before – gray? Maybe you could produce a new brown one…?

What was he before – gray? Maybe you could produce a new brown one…? We still have a box of armadillos somewhere. We were planning to sell them, if we ever get around to it. Most of the Armadillos I saw were half painted. They weren’t antiqued, so they would need to be finished.
We have talked about re-issuing some of the old line, although I doubt we ever will. We would have to mark them as re-issues or something, since we couldn’t paint natural animals other than the way they were painted in the first issue. Also, finding those old molds would be nearly impossible! But who knows what the move will turn up. -
