Forms of the Feminine Spirit

So what is that form?

In the simplest way it is the forms we human females all share on this planet. But when we move up the scale of the simple, or not so simple physical plane into the realms of feelings or thought-patterns, giving form to the feminine becomes a lot more complex. Is there duality, male/ female to emotions? to thought? to energy? Or is the feminine just an angle, a perspective?

The feminine is an aspect of our being for both men and women. Each of us needs our male and female aspects well developed. Marilyn Monroe is an example of someone having a wonderfully rich feminine aspect with an undeveloped male quality. She did not have the male structure and strength to protect herself and to set and hold clear boundaries.

Every crisis – meaning passage, or change, or transition- calls for a strength to be develpped. Many of my sculptures are virtues put into form. Not that any of those have a gender, but I belief it is in the nature of the feminine to move into process -into change- and to go with the flow for a while.

We are all constantly involved in balancing these aspects. With the foods we eat, people we spend time with, books we read, music — it is all part of nurturing my feminine spirit.

My sculptures are a way of expressing what I can see. They are all part of and an answer to a process in my life. I am thriled to share them with you.
