Broken pics will be coming, but basically the whole arm with the staff was completely broken off, and fragmented into about 10+ pieces, this also included the back folds of the cloak on the right side as well. Translation, a lot of holes to fill in.
The top of the staff was gone, and I think perhaps the replacement I made is taller than the original, but it was the best I could do, overall I think it looks about right.
This one took me a couple days, partly due to the new Harry Potter book and partly just due to how much little details had to be restored.
Let me know what you folks think.

July 26, 2007 at 3:37 am #603449The damage sounds bad – but it’s hard to believe the piece was ever broken. Looks great to me!
July 26, 2007 at 3:21 pm #603450I was about to say the same thing. What damage?
Good work!
July 26, 2007 at 4:37 pm #603451It looks really good. 😀

Good work!
Thanks, I am really pleased with him. Need to pack him up so he can go home.
Right now he looks pretty cool in the middle of my work table.

July 27, 2007 at 2:35 am #603454I am sooo happy you were able to fix JC’s Wizard! He is gorgeous! Thank You so much for doing that! It made me soo mad that someone packed him so carelessly.
You did a great job!!!!!

Thanks, he’s all packed up…JC is gonna have fun unwrapping him, but all is fair in love and war. After all, he did it to me, so I mummified the wizard just as througly…he’s gonna need a knife for the bubble wrap enshrouding him. LOL!
Though I was nice, and didn’t wrap 10 winds of tape around him.
I think Joe sent the original box he was shipped in within the bigger shipping box, it looked suspicious, and if it was, then I am not surprised it got damaged, that box is just exactly big enough, and no bigger for the wizard. So one or two good knocks or God forbid he was dropped or something was dropped on him, cablooey, broken wizard.
I admit to always feeling a bit of worry in packing these things…even though I know we’ve packed him well, I still cringe about sending him away. What if he doesn’t arrive in one piece? Though I know I shouldn’t worry, I still do.

July 27, 2007 at 3:32 am #603456LOL well be expecting a huge box (18x18x16) from me soon. I’ll be shipping the griffin out tomorrow after I drop my rugrat off at hourly daycare for the afternoon. I actually had to scrounge for packing peanuts to go in the two boxes. I had just enough though. 😆 I thought about smaller, but I was afraid a 16-inch cube wouldn’t allow enough padding on the sides. I tipped it gently and didn’t hear anything shift. 😀 Thanks for agreeing to try and fix him for me.

I hope you remembered to include the broken bits. If not, throw em in quick! As for fixing him, heck, I like fixing things, always have.

July 27, 2007 at 4:08 am #603458Oh yes, the broken bits are in there too. No need to worry about that. They are wrapped up with the griffin in the inner box. He’s been wrapped up for a while waiting for me to send him to someone to fix. I know he’ll be glad to have some fresh air before getting boxed back up and sent home.
July 27, 2007 at 3:11 pm #603459I think I am going to send you a couple of things to be repaired. So expect a huge box…hehe
July 27, 2007 at 11:26 pm #603460The griffin is on his way!
