So how long has it been since I pained a PYO? A damn long time!!! LOL!
This was a comission for a griffin in the design of a Bourke Parakeet named Brett. With moving and everything he took quite a while to finish, but he’s finally all done! I’m pretty pleased with how he came out considering how many breaks I took in between working on him. It actually worked out good, because there are alot of different techniques all rolled into one sculpt.

June 30, 2007 at 6:37 pm #593589Wooohooo! Look at my Brett! You have outdone yourself, drag0n: -) He is truly outstanding! You did a wonderful, wonderful job! The beauty he had IRL, but you gave him the grace he should have had….I just don’t have the words, ya know? I sound like a dork! 🙄 😆 I love him!
The story of Brett….
Due to poor breeding, Brett was brain damaged. He mostly sat on the floor of the cage or on a low perch and looked upward. He kept his head at an odd angle. When he flew, he wobbled and turned, just like Woodstock from the Snoopy cartoon. He was a sweet and gentle bird. He only lived about 6 months, but he was special to me. I have two other Bourkes now – Pogo and Marilyn. You have to hear them sing – their voices are gentle and musical: -)
This was Brett…not a great picture, but…
