This is just a suggestion.
I love silver, more so then gold. Did you ever think of making the horn for the PYO in a silver finish?
I think it would look great specially with certain colors. 😉June 29, 2007 at 3:12 am #491705June 29, 2007 at 4:45 am #593182Yes, please.
June 29, 2007 at 5:16 pm #593183Ditto!!

I think it would look great specially with certain colors. 😉We could, but right now we have a stock pile of the golden ones, so we would actually have to expend EFFORT to make silver ones. We avoid this sort of thing, if possible. That is a good idea though, next time we do a batch of horns I’ll save out some silver ones.(they are silver colored before they are plated with gold)
You can put aluminum leaf on the golden horns to turn them silver looking if you want to do that.June 29, 2007 at 6:27 pm #593185It’s easier if they just come in silver. 😆 I’m glad we’ll be seeing some in silver from the factory.

I think it would look great specially with certain colors. 😉Right , I was going to ask about that. We would have to have a batch made silver by our plater. Jennifer and Olimpia have made some horns silver by leafing aluminum leaf over the gold.

Goodie..but I thought they were already silver and that you had to then plate them with gold… 😕
December 17, 2007 at 3:25 am #593190I think they’re pewter, which is fairly dull. For the bright gleaming look, they probably need to plate it, either with silver or gold.
But yeah! Silver horns would be awesome with some schemes for sure.

The horns start out cast pewter, which is dull and not shiny like sterling silver or aluminum.

My art: featherdust.comDecember 17, 2007 at 5:26 am #593192The answer may be starring me right in the eye, but since were talking about horns here, can I ask (anyone) if you have a tarnished gold horn, what is the best way to get it back into shiny like new condition? Go beyond paper leaf because I dont have that at the moment! 🙂 Can it be cleaned, so to speak? Or does it have to be redone, for lack of a better phrase?
As for silver horns, sure! Im up for that when it can be made available. Cool suggestion!

Thanks PhoenixTears, I usualy ask if they make it in silver for jewelry so I thought I could do the same here. Some color schemes would look great with a silver horn. 😉December 17, 2007 at 1:51 pm #593194Oh cool! I prefer gold most of the time, but the occasional silver would be neat!
