By September, I will [probably] be in DESPERATE need of an airbrush. I will only need it for maybe one or two projects, so I honestly DON’T want to have to buy one. Does ANYONE here have an innexpensive, dual-action set with compressor and manual, that I could borrow in September? I know it’s a longshot, most people don’t have a spare airbrush kit and compresor lying around, but it’s worth a try.
Or alternatively, does anyone know of a nice cheap airbrush kit and compressor that I could buy? Like I said, I don’t really have a lot of money right now, and the airbrush will only be for one or two projects, so…
(By “not a lot of money”, I mean “I can’t spend over $40”)
June 27, 2007 at 4:50 am #592651maybe you can rent one at a party shop or something…
June 27, 2007 at 7:57 am #592652I don’t have a compressor, but I have a cheap, made in China (or Taiwan?) never been used dual-action. You want it? I could sell it to you for a couple of bucks plus shipping, I just want to get it off my hands.
June 27, 2007 at 2:44 pm #592653What are you using it for Pam? I bought a plastic airbrush (made my Testors) and canned propellant for under $20 at Wal*Mart when I had a project I needed an airbrush for but only needed it once and didn’t have cash to burn. It worked out okay for the simple sculptures I painted.

My art: featherdust.comJune 27, 2007 at 5:39 pm #592654I’ll be needing it for a large snake sculpture. Gold-colored on top, fading to light yellow under. http://www.kingsnake.com/salceies/Floyd.htm <– Like that snake (just without the white spots). And I will also need it for a green snake, dark green on top, fading to light green underneith. Basically, my only requirements are: Dual-action, needs to have smooth spray (no clumps, splatters, or large speckles).
SPark, what all is included with your gun? Do you have any way of testing it to see how well it paints?
June 27, 2007 at 8:40 pm #592655I don’t have the right hookup to stick it on my compressor, it came with a fitting that fits a standard /shop/ kind of compressor I used to have, but funnily enough doesn’t fit my actual airbrush compressor I have now. So no way to hook it up.
I did test it on the old compressor, very quickly. It does paint, but I didn’t like… paint anything with it, I just put some water through and made a wet spot with it, to see that stuff goes through. I used to be horribly intimidated by it, which is why I never used it.
The fitting is a 1/4 inch thing. Comes with two bottles, a gravity feed cup, spare needle, and a little wrench widget, all in a case.
June 27, 2007 at 9:07 pm #592656How much do you want for it?
June 28, 2007 at 2:58 am #592657Shipping plus $10 maybe? *shrugs*
