I know someone posted about it somewhere but I can’t find it… I was just wondering what brands of Airbrushes you guys suggest. I would like to make a list of ideas for my birthday and christmas so that my boyfriend stops complaining that I have everything I want and if I don’t have something I want, I buy it. Anyway I want a good air brush set… if that’s what you would call it… but I don’t know what all you need or what brands are best…

I dunno about other brands, but I like my Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS gun and Iwata Sprint Jet compressor.
The HP-BCS is pretty much a basic airgun, but if you practice with it enough you can get pretty fine details with it. I was able to airbrush the ridge of each feather on the head of the PYO griffin and he turned out lovely. It’s also very easy to clean.
Iwata is an excellent brand, and I also hear Badger is too.

WOW! Really?! That’s amazing! Do you have any photos? (apologies if I missed them, I’m terrible busy most of the time. >_>)

I sure do! Though, he’s already gone to a new home several months ago! 1377 gives the best view of the feathers atop his head.

My art: featherdust.comJune 23, 2007 at 4:20 pm #591666Wow! Mine’s supposed to get that good of precision but I’ve been used to the single action airbrush I used as a cake decorator and am still adjusting to the double action ab….I bet your hand cramped something awful after doing him! Oh, I use an Iwata HP-C and am very pleased with it so far. 😀 I love that griffin!
June 24, 2007 at 12:22 am #591667I remember that griff!! 😀 That was the one that really made me want to try airbrushing….when I get an airbrush, I’m learning how to do THAT with it!!

Arlla–Yes, my very first! I almost didn’t give him up ’cause he was such an accomplishment. And I really want to see you in action with an airbrush, since your paintjobs are just beautiful!
I love your paintjobs too, tc-cat!
