I was thinking that maybe we could have a guide or something in the description on the PYOs for new people.
Alot of people have said that the griffin is the easiest to paint, but I think the dragon is the easiest to paint. If we come up with a conclusion then that would be easier for people to decide what to paint first. My idea is kind of like those kits that you put together and they rate it from easiest to hardest.

Personal opinion: I think that this actualy would be hard because depending on the skill leval and talent, people find different textures easier and it really varies from person to person.
for instance: I have had more experience with paints so i found the dragons a bit easier to paint and the griffins/wolves harder..
but my sister who is still learning finds the wolves easier since they have more texture that can grab paint.
also it depends on style of paint. smooth scales work for me because i use my fingers a lot and with watered down paint, they hold onto the paint easier, letting my finger or brush slide over with out taking off dried paint..
while this technique does not work for the wolves and griffins because of the texture…but my my sister uses only a brush and there for a lot of texture is best as it traps paint easier them smooth scales.(i hope all this rambling made sense)

June 21, 2007 at 1:37 am #591211I think this is too subjective to individual tastes and approaches to really create a guide for. For example, a lot of people think the kirin is one of the easiest, and I hate hate hate painting PYO kirins. They are the hardest so far for me.

My art: featherdust.comJune 21, 2007 at 3:33 am #591212I think it’s all in opinion… there are those who paint 90% gryphons, but I HATE painting them. The Ki-Rin’s are LOVE for me.
