I need a VERY fine pen (nothing too much over .25mm) that is water proof and doesn’t smudge, for drawing designs on polymer clay and apoxie sculptures that have been painted with acrylics. I am having terrible luck finding anything. I need the colors black, red, and brown. Any suggestion?
Forgot to add, I will be painting over the sculptures with Liquidex gloss and satin varnish. I don’t want an ink that will smudge everywhere when I paint the liquidex over it! I have been trying to use Micron pens (SUPPOSED to be waterproof and smear-proof), but am having serious doubts as to whether they will work. I did some ink work on one of the acrylic-painted pieces yesterday. I let it sit for 24 hours so the ink could dry, but it still smeared when I rubbed it!

I also need suggestions as to what I could use to protect outdoor acrylic-painted crafts from fading in the sun.

faber castell. Comes in different colors and sizes. Very fine. I use them for my aceo cards.
I am not sure just how well polymer will take these, or take pens at all, even after a wash with detergent. I have never seen them used on polymer. When I made a tatto on a fae I used acrylics after I failed with a pen with the size I wanted. I know that thicker pens work, but I am not sure about fine ones. I think that the fine ones will be divided into driplets due to the sealing of polymers, perhaps also apoxies. I’d have recommended liquitex too, using a very, very fine brush.

I tend to use Microns. They come in a very wide assortment of colors, and are archival.
