June 15, 2007 at 4:05 am #589273Yeah, the emp is striking. Somehow all the little dots on the young are disconcerting though. Were these commissioned?

June 15, 2007 at 4:40 pm #589277I really like the emperor too. What is the random little stick man about?
June 15, 2007 at 4:41 pm #589278The emperor was especially difficult because I didn’t have a turntable to work on, so most of the time I had to hold it in my lap or with one hand…it got very heavy after a while! Then the little guy was supposed to match the big one, and for some reason it had all those little bumps all over it…made them all brown to match the larger one. I suppose they also could have been gold metallic.
Yes, they were commissioned from someone who didn’t just want the primered pieces. I was selling the primered ones on ebay and the person who bought them wanted me to paint them, so I said ok….and I’ve been wanting to see what a yellow-sheme dragon would look like on a Windstone anyways since I don’t think yellows have really been tapped into other than for goldens.June 15, 2007 at 4:44 pm #589279Oh, the stick figure and little lightning bolt-esque thing are petroglyphs. The commissioner likes the southwest and wanted the dragons to look as if they have camo-skin to blend in with the swirling rock patterns, and on their wings to show a little bit of ruins or pueblos like abandoned ancient dwellings that are part of the southwest. There is the classic arch of Utah on the Young, I believe it’s Utah, and the “White House Ruins” on the emp which I think are from Arizona but I can’t recall just now. I was given a slew of referances.
