I think the search feature is really for finding posts. There is a function to search by author though. You can always click the memberlist link to try and find someone’s name. You even get a handy dandy PM button next to the names.

This is what I use- the “Memberlist” http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/memberlist.php . Lists all the forum members in order of their signup date. I’m on page two in case anyone wants to PM me their credit card number 😛
Edited: Eek, 7 pages now! I guess we do need a member search.
You can re-sort the member list in several ways, including by name (it just defaults by sign-up date). Ascending or descending order even. So as long as you know who you want to talk to, it’s not too hard 😉

Cool, I never paid attention to the sorting feature. Now I need to go find my page numbers for every sorting possibility so I can start receiving those credit card numbers 😛
Yeah, I know there is the memberlist and there is the PM by the name. It sometimes takes me a while more to search for someone’s name if I have to search thru 7 pages just to find their name. I also think that if there was a way to search by member name then it would save me and others lots of time.
If you know the person’s name or part of the name, you can send them a PM and it has a search function within the PM where you can use a wildcard (*). So I can open up a new PM, hit “Find username” and type in “Great*” and it will give me GB.
