This is a gift for a woman I just met. She actually just joined the forum and is going to be selling some of her pieces. Anyway- she had a calico cat named suki- this is a memorial piece for her. I wanted to get your opinions on it. It was difficult because the flap cat has a wider face and the features (like the eyes) are set differently- but I think there is a resemblance. I am not so concerned with the body- as I am with the face.
In this pic I hadn’t sealed the piece yet- so it looks a bit unfinished in this pic. BTW this flap was all chipped up and in pretty bad shape- one chip out of the wing is still noticable- but I painted over it and it is on the back side of the back wing so you can’t see it when it is displayed.
Anyway- what do you all think?
I think its wonderful. I did the same thing for my mom when her cat died. Water painted it for me. Its a lovely resemblance. She will be very pleased.
Very nice representation. But I’d go nuts if I had a cat like that, I’d constantly want to wash it’s face.
I did that to my younger brother for years with his mole, I’d lick my finger and try to rub it off, just to annoy him. 😀 “Some dirt here or something..”
