So, at least a week ago lamortefille, starbreeze, Ski, and I think some others asked to see Mom’s artwork. I said I’d do it the next day, but that didn’t happen because I was busy transferring stuff from my old XP laptop to my new Vista laptop and Vista has been disagreeable until just shortly. Anyway, I finally took pics of a few samples of her work. She does all sorts of things – papercut:
pen and ink:
miniatures (3.5×5″):
oils:
A few more are here.
This is about 1/50th of all the work around the house. If you want to see more, let me know. But these are a good sample.
I may remove the Photobucket album later, after everyone’s had a look, just so Mom’s work doesn’t end up stolen.May 13, 2007 at 1:09 pm #490938May 13, 2007 at 1:13 pm #575021Oh, cool! I really like the horses sketch with the head profiles.
May 13, 2007 at 1:15 pm #575022I think that “sketch” took at least 20 hours to complete. 😆 At least. I’d have to ask.
May 13, 2007 at 2:24 pm #575023Wow! These are truly great. Thank you for posting, and it’s a shame you have to worry about someone stealing it. Her horses are fabulous.
May 13, 2007 at 3:29 pm #575024i can honestly say it even looks more awesome in real life 😉 was lucky enough to eyeball a few of those 🙂
(tell her she muuuust paint more! we need more artists like her 🙂 )May 13, 2007 at 3:33 pm #575025Your mom does beautiful work! Is she a professional artist?
My favorites are the pen and ink horse heads and the “Chestnut Miniature.” Thanks for sharing.
May 13, 2007 at 4:38 pm #575026Wow!!! No wonder you’re so talented!!! 😀
My favs: the Chestnuts minature, artwork #8 and the papercut. I can’t imagine how long the papercut must take!!! The detail is incredible!!!!
Her horses in both oil and pen & ink seem so alive. 😯
Thank your Mother for sharing her artwork with us. 😀
May 13, 2007 at 7:08 pm #575027Lovely. My favorites are the horse heads done in pen and ink and the papercut of the horses.

.She would not happen to want to part with this one, would she?? What would the cost be, and what are the dimensions? I love it.
May 13, 2007 at 7:41 pm #575029Oh man, Ski, I’d have to ask. It’s not like we’ve got a lot of extra wallspace, so maybe she’d want to let it go…
The dimensions are about 19×22. I can’t measure exactly because it’s hung way out of my reach. But I’ll ask if she wants to sell it as soon as I can. She’s outside right now.Mimi: Yes, I guess you could call her a professional. She does a professional job. She kind of gave it up though, except for the occasional pen and ink, after having us five kids.
Bosky: I don’t know how to put a watermark on these and Photobucket can sell prints of the pictures. So that’s why I may remove them later.
I’m glad you all like her work so much. I’ll photograph a few more pieces tomorrow and share them.
May 13, 2007 at 7:51 pm #575030Okay, Mom says she has prints of it. If you want a print, I can PM you contact info. If you want the original, it’s fine but she needs to think about the price. Let me know. 😀
May 13, 2007 at 9:13 pm #575031Wow, those are all lovely! It must be wonderful living with a mom who appreciates and does her own artwork!!
May 13, 2007 at 10:56 pm #575032Wow, A lot of those are really nice. I can understand why you would ask her opinion. I can see a lot of them hung on Ski’s wall. I really like the ones with the buildings.
May 14, 2007 at 12:35 am #575033Beautiful work! I love the Chestnut Miniature. Tell your Mom thank you for sharing and I would love to see more: -)
