Okay, this is just for those that may have missed this tidbit in the other massive, scary thread!
You can pre-order the sitting pearl griffin chick.
This is not for any of the other colors or the other pose, this is for the pearl sitting griffin chick only.melody wrote:Karen and Susie said they will take pre-orders on the next batch today(which we will start on tomorrow)Our toll free number(800)982-4464
Since we’re on the subject, I thought I’d offer a suggestion — how about adding a pre-ordering feature to the website?
This would eliminate the problems that people have been having with trying to buy a piece in the few minutes before it sells out, and it would also be good from a business standpoint since Windstone would know exactly how many pieces to paint — no need to worry about excess inventory sitting around! And best of all, this wouldn’t result in any extra work for Karen/Susie since the pre-ordering is handled automatically via the website.
Having a feature on the website to allow people to order automatically is pretty common on most web stores that I’ve seen. I would suggest also adding a feature to allow people to order the direct sales pieces — this would help reduce Karen/Susie’s workload, and it would also allow people in different time zones to order outside of business hours.
Just my 2 cents… 🙂

March 7, 2007 at 4:58 pm #548856Please don’t quote me on this, but I think this sort of thing is in the works, or at least planned. I don’t know about pre-ordering, but direct sales online… 🙂
There is just not enough time to get it up as fast as we’d like, I think. If someone could invent a machine that would slow down time for the Factory… 😆Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

Just my 2 cents… 🙂 We are discussing ways to do this, to avoid ebay scuffles,(thought they are exciting). I have not been encouraging pre-ordering because it is one more thing for Karen and Susie to worry about, but I think next time we need to get some idea, ahead of time, how many pieces to make of a new thing.I should of anticipated the demand for these, and made a larger first batch!
We are working with our website guy on setting up a real Windstone “store” on our website, with a check out and shopping cart and all that stuff. We could have a section for Pre-ordering too.
March 7, 2007 at 5:09 pm #548858That sounds like the ideal solution!
March 7, 2007 at 5:12 pm #548859in the mean time….can’t you just do a poll of how many people will be buying….
that would at least give you a rough estimate of how many
I’m sure someone would be willing to start one for you….

This would be fabulous! I would love to be able to preorder then sit back and relax. Just knowning one of whatever fabulous piece will be coming to me is like peace of mind!
Windstone is da bomb!
March 7, 2007 at 6:13 pm #548862It would be wonderful! I’m sure our neglected SOs, pets, houses, etc. would benefit from it, too. 😆
March 7, 2007 at 6:16 pm #548863Not only would it be great for us, but I bet other random, non-forum folks would make use of it too… So it’s great for Windstone, too.
March 7, 2007 at 6:20 pm #548864That would be so great. I could get stuff done on my thesis or grading papers. Yes!
March 7, 2007 at 8:17 pm #548865I agree, it would be a GREAT IDEA!

As a collector, I very much welcome it. It would allow you to keep your inventory low, put energy into those things that there is a demand for, and streamline the tracking and paperwork for Karen and Susie. Over time, you can also see if there are trends of what sells well and and if it correlates to certain times of the year (i.e. winter holidays).
By being able to plan ahead, if you know a lull is coming up in demand (stop laughing ), or you choose to give the factory some down time, you can allow yourself time to work on other projects (like your comic). My 2 cents worth.
