Well, I tried to do a paint horse pattern, but I get the feeling he looks more like a cow! He’s still cute (I think) though I suck at taking accurate pictures. The haloing around his markings is more subtle than the pictures show. For some reason my camera exploits the lighter shades of paint.
Oh well, I still need to finish him up, but could use some critiques.
Thanks all…

February 23, 2007 at 3:07 am #542728So cute. You could say he looks like a cow or a pinto 😆 . Looks like alittle of both. A cowto? Or a pinow? Anyways cute.
February 23, 2007 at 3:12 am #542729I really like the placement of the black and white on his face and head. I don’t think of a cow when I see him (not that there is anything wrong with cows! <3 cows 🙂 ).
February 23, 2007 at 3:12 am #542730Ha! Ha! I like cowto!!! 😆
February 23, 2007 at 3:17 am #542731LOL, thanks. He is very cute in person. I wish I had a blue eyed kirin when I started though. I will be ordering a couple and then we’ll have a “paint party”. I can just see a little herd of pinto kirins!
February 23, 2007 at 3:21 am #542732Very cute! I love how you did the mapping on each spot! And that soft pink nose and ears…too cute! I actually think it might be the flat nose that makes it seem more like a cow than a horse..but either way he is cute!
I am not as fond of the light blue on the legs. It doesn’t quite fit in I guess. But he is your vision not mine! 😉
Overall…awsome job!February 23, 2007 at 3:23 am #542733I know what you mean about the blue not fitting, but this guy was screaming for just a little color. All that black and white…
February 23, 2007 at 4:27 am #542734Cute pinto-rin, Phoenix! If there’s any way to do this, I would make the blurry edges of of the spots on the scales smoother.
February 23, 2007 at 5:18 am #542735I think its adorable! I love the face. I kinda dont like the mapping, but I couldnt do any better. Its really cute!

There’s nothing wrong with only black and white. Mind you, I tend to be a minimalist with colors…
I love the contrasts you’ve got. The blue is the only thing I’m not keen on. If you want to add another color, maybe you could make the hooves brown, orange or another earthy color.Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

February 23, 2007 at 4:18 pm #542738I’m no fan of silver and gold together, but I think that would look better than the blue.
February 23, 2007 at 5:26 pm #542739I like what you have going so far. I’d too not use the blue…I’d replace it with pink (since it’s a color already used), brown, or silver if you do silver hooves. I say silver because that would match the color you got when blending the black to the white and having that little marked silver area. Otherwise, looks pretty cool.
