What do you think? Taking pics always helps me see where I need to touch up. This is done in pastels & some acrylic here and there.

Ok, so, be honest, tell me what you think!! Should I antique? Ok, I know I should, but I’m dreading it! I’m gonna do some gold interference too.

Stunning blending job! Your skills are amazing.

The eyes are creeping me out but the painting is gorgeous!! I totally adore these natural colored ones. Will this one end up on Ebay??

Ski, This is the one I repainted. I went over the whole thing with Krylon primer, so the eyes do look weird.

I have antiqued, interferenced and now it is just drying before I take off the masking fluid. I’ll post updated pics in a while.

Oh, and yes, this will end up on ebay I think…

I like it, however I am not sure about the black talons. I think they would be better a different color.

      Here we go, all done.

He looks much better antiqued. Almost as if he’ll fly away… I hope he fetches you a good price!

I was just thinking he looked better before antiquing. He is still pretty though.

Better before antiquing? His details show much better with the antiquing, but it’d hard to decide which version is more realistic…

I think the head may look better with the antiquing. Im not sure though. I keep coming back to look at it. 😆

I do see that the blending was more eye-catching before the antiquing. Now the antiquing grabs my attention first when I look at him. And he looked softer un-antiqued, too. But I still like him better as he is now. 🙂

There’s a certain realistic quality to the pre-antiqued one. Actual animals don’t have their features sharply shadowed in the crevices like that.

The antiquing is lovely on this, and it does bring out the detail of the sculpt, but before antiquing it looked more like a real creature, and now it looks like a beautiful statue.

            Thanks, SPark. Perfect formulation. 😀

It was a hard decision whether ot not to antique. I did like how realistic he looked before, but I think overall, he looks more fluid antiqued. I think the next one I do will be lighter in color and I will prolly not antique the whole thing. Hmm, I wonder if windstone is open today??
