I am looking for someone who knows how to do “the hair thing” with making custom MLPs. I want to paint a few I have but don’t want to deal with the hair plugs. All I need is someone who has access to the right type of hair necessary and who is willing to decapitate the ponies to redo their hair. If interested, let me know. I’ve been looking for someone willing to do this for quite some time and have just about givin up. I’m willing to Trade PYO services or $$.
Also, if you can strip the one rearing pony that has peach fuzzies all over it’s body, that would rock too!

February 9, 2007 at 7:59 pm #537629Same here! I never managed to get it right!
Maybe it’s a patience thing… 😯
But I have tons of MLPs and ideas… I just can’t get past the rehairing them. ::grumbles::
February 9, 2007 at 8:00 pm #537630Yeah…actually I outsource my rehair jobs! I know a chick that will do it for like 12 bucks…and she provides the hair. Very very cheap. http://www.sevenbellesmlpcustoms.com/ is her website and her email is on there. I trust her completely and have always been very very happy with her work. I am not sure if she strips the flocking or not. Its harder to find someone to do that…its very very hard and time consuming. But basically you boil the pony with the head off and then rub. Then take nail polish remover and scrub at the rest. Its a pain.
February 9, 2007 at 8:07 pm #537631WOW! Awesome Whippet!
Hey… $12 a pony… heck I’d outsource it too! I just have so many CMs I want to do… but… I got too frustrated…
That and my first paintjob went sticky. 😛 Any bright ideas on how to paint them?
Though honestly… I’m more for using a body that has the right color in the first place… looks more authentic. 😉
February 9, 2007 at 8:16 pm #537632One gal I know who does ponies buys white ones and dyes them colors. Apparently this works better than painting.
February 9, 2007 at 8:30 pm #537633Yeah Dye is much much better! I use that most. RIT dye works fine although truly dark colors will fade with time. As for Paint, if you must use it, then you just use regualar acrylic and then seal with a gloss or Matte coat.
February 9, 2007 at 8:48 pm #537634I don’t know how to do hair, but my daughter has finally grown out of MLP and have a ton to get rid of. Would you consider a trade for some ponies?

I am not collecting…but if you show me pics then I can give you value ideas…PM me with pics.February 9, 2007 at 10:04 pm #537636I’ll take pictures (while she’s not looking) and post them. They are nothing special. All bought in the last two years or so. But what I do have is quantity.
I guess I could list them on Ebay and let her buy something.
I’ll post pictures anyway.
Thanks!February 10, 2007 at 2:23 am #537637WOW. I’ve never seen ponies like those! I had no idea anyone cm’d My Little Ponies. Some of those are *really* cool, wow. Neato.
February 10, 2007 at 6:23 am #537638I already have all the ponies I need to customize…they are my old vintage ponies I played with when I was little, but thanks! And thanks for the link!
February 10, 2007 at 6:27 am #537639You know what Pheonix, post pics. anyway…I may see something I like. I am not used to seeing the new ponies…do they have better poses?
If I knew a lot of people on the forums were interested I’d have an MLP custom painted pony contest for a large dragon custom paint job win.
February 10, 2007 at 6:37 am #537640I’ll take pics tomorrow morning. As far as I can remember, the poses are just about the same. Only so much you can do with a MLP.
Though who was it that posted the gross out pony with the eye hanging out? Ewwwww. -
