here’s a new griffin I did…I was looking through boxes and found a light blue eyed griffin….so I decided to just paint him…
I used interference paint throughout the entire body…the violet, blue and gold….
the gold is on the feline body and tips of the wings…the violet and blue is on the bird body with black underneath parts of the wings and face…
the claws have both violet and blue…kind of hard to see in the photos
January 31, 2007 at 9:19 pm #534774Love the colors. Still seems a bit plain though. I can’t see the gold on the body at all though.
I love the face!January 31, 2007 at 10:03 pm #534775Beautiful coloring on the griffins face; I love the violet/blue combination. The wings are also very striking. 😀

I love the face!that’s the thing….all those interference colors only show up in person…no matter what I did I couldn’t get it where they would show up in the picture….
and it really isn’t plain at all…in person…
simply maybe…but not plain..

Pretty griff, btw.February 1, 2007 at 6:45 am #534778Greater Basilisk wrote:“I was looking through boxes… happened to find a blue-eyed griffin… just decided to paint him…” Frozen, how do you DO that?
Pretty griff, btw.eh I just do…
the only ones I have to think about are the one’s that someone wants done specifically…
but I always change the idea a million times…and usually while I’m doing it….
this one was originally black and white…and silver….then I added the interference all over it…now it’s totally different….but still much different in person
February 1, 2007 at 6:50 am #534779I took another look at it – there is one thing that’s a little disconcerting, namely the abrupt start of purple on the wings. The shoulder is white, and then it suddenly changes to purple. Is the transition smoother IRL?

the violet interference is on the white…and leads right up to the black and covers it also….it’s something you can only trully see in person…
