I just receive my brown mother dragon and noticed (aside from the difference in color) that the eyes were a different blue.

Are there many brown dragons with that light blue eye color?

Are there many brown dragons with that light blue eye color? You just sent me an image of this dragon, didn’t you? This is a very old dragon, probably one of the very first we did in this color. Ways to identify the very old browns: The eyes were a lighter blue, They had a more uniform dark reddish color, no pad, messy gold, and the finish on the scales and details were rougher.
I didn’t start really refining the sculptures in plaster until after we had been making these guys for awhile. He may be cast from a mold made directly off of the clay original,or a master made directly from it, with little, if any, refinement done to the details. He was probably made in 1985 or so, when we first started casting them. He may even have a seam line down the back, I don’t remember if the males were ever cast in two part molds, but the oldest females were.January 17, 2007 at 8:34 pm #528682So is that light-eyed male more valuable than a normal-eyed one – by Windstone collectors’ standards?

It’s less common… value is all in the eye of the beholder! Or in the pocketbook of the collecter, might be more accurate. 😉

January 25, 2007 at 7:47 pm #528686What about non-brown dragons? What colors are their eyes supposed to be? By peacock male and OW both have the light blue eyes.

Peacocks have the light blue eyes, I think…
The old greens have orange eyes( except for a few that accidentally got blue eyes, I am waiting to see one of those on Ebay!)
Whites have straw eyes,
Rainbows have those creepy deep blue eyes,
Rubys have ruby eyes,
Peacock black and hybrid dragons have blue eyes,
Black Golds have blue eyes,
Golds have ruby eyes…
Emeralds have ruby or orange eyes,
and Jades have red eyes.January 25, 2007 at 11:41 pm #528688I mean for blue eyes only. Like the peacocks. If in the browns, the lighter blue eyes are rarer than the darker blues, is the same true for peacocks? All my peacocks have the lighter version blue, like with that brown male pictured, and I’ve never seen a peacock any other way.
