Hello, new member pipsxlch here, so everyone knows I’m not a bot lol. I hope to soon start adding to my Windstone collection and want to find out what’s out-only now has a retailer in my area opened which carries them even (last one stopped several years
ago). I’ve had most of them packed away the last few years while my daughter was little (to save her from death if she damaged them), but maybe she’s old enough now to start unpacking them.
I got my first ones- the mom, dad and hatching baby dragons- 20 years ago from a little gift shop in Cocoa FL. They’re in the (olive) green, and I still have them. Can’t beat the $25/each adults and $20/baby they cost me then!
My favorite color is the matte olive green that my original sculpts came in- I have several other pieces in it, though I switched to the emerald when the olive was no longer available. I like green for the dragons, only non-green one I have is a peacock Oriental dragon (though I think peacock works for the Spectrals). I’ll go for the emerald peacock on new pieces.
I’d have a hard time picking my fave sculpt, though I really like the Secret Keeper in the pics (don’t have one). I do have a soft spot for my prototype Old Warrior though, and my Scratching Dragon, the Lap Dragon is nice, and my original 3…
My most recent piece was a Christmas present last year- the prototype Old Warrior in the emerald peacock hybrid color, and with a sketch from Melody on the provenance. WOW! Best gift ever! My most treasured thing, maybe even over the motorcycle!
Well, ,that’s it. Only piece I have a pic of is the Old Warrior, though I can take a pic of the Orientals, Emperor (and egg), and Scratching ones too. Others are still packed up (need to get out and inventory so I know what ot buy lol!).December 29, 2006 at 8:51 pm #489120December 29, 2006 at 8:54 pm #521191Welcome! Glad to have you with us.

December 29, 2006 at 9:09 pm #521196Hey, welcome to the forum! 😀
December 29, 2006 at 9:24 pm #521197Welcome! The green family were also the first Windstones that I got. And you’re really lucky to have gotten one of the peacock emerald OW prototypes! Definitely something I wouldn’t mind having for a Christmas present… 😀
December 29, 2006 at 9:26 pm #521198YAY, you made it. I am so glad you joined. I hope you enjoy it here. 😀
December 29, 2006 at 9:30 pm #521199Welcome! How do you pronounce that name?
An emerald-peacock prototype! And as a gift! Wow that is great! If it was from your husband, he’s a keeper 😆
I don’t know if you’ve been reading for a while, but if not, you’ll be happy to know that Melody will be releasing a fledgling in the old green color, I believe as a BIN on ebay, so keep your eyes open because they will go fast!
December 29, 2006 at 9:49 pm #521200I’m really not sure how you’d pronounce the name myself, pipslick? It’s from my departed heart dog named Pip, and my motorcycle (a Harley ’74 XLCH 1000- she REALLY wanted to ride it, but she was pretty big and I never got a sidecar or even big luggage rack before she died)- it’s just what I’ve used since I really learned how to come online.
The OW was a present from my mother- not really a surprise (except for what she was willing to spend) since she used my eBay account, but truly splendid nontheless. And she’s hinted around I can pick out something else for myself for my birthday!
(actually the Orientals are hers, 1 I got for her. And I’m eyeing a ki-rin and baby Oriental for her).
Wow, more in the green, I really did like that color… I have the fledgling in emerald and can’t afford multiples of a single sculpt, but I’d sell my emerald one for that.December 29, 2006 at 9:50 pm #521201Welcome
December 29, 2006 at 9:50 pm #521202Hiya hiya HOI! Welcome to the boards, have fun and make merry!
December 29, 2006 at 9:55 pm #521203Cool name, Pip. If you end up selling your emerald fledge, post in the flea market here before E-Bay, will you please? I’d be a potential taker.
