Hello, Melody — and everyone else!
I don’t expect this to ever become a reality, but more I’m curious if it would be possible in the first place.
I’m talking about sculpting a two-headed dragon (or some other animal, like a gargoyle, or a hydra.) in gypsum.
I know getting consistent production pieces on a delicate, two headed sculpt would be a nightmare. One would need double the glass eyes for one…
But.
Is it, theoretically, possible?
All the multi-headed dragon figurines I’ve seen are plastic, resin, or some sad unshapely combo of steel and glass.
Windstone Editions is basically the main place I think of when it comes to solid works of art.
If Windstones couldn’t do it, no one can.

Haha, I figured! Though that reminds me, have you seen gypsum 3d printers in action? Those things are crazy, but imagine that — to help consistently sculpt two headed dragons, or other impossible projects. Like consistent spine molds for a porcupine’s back.
I’ll probably give it a shot, one day. Wish me luck.

I’ve seen cement printers on youtube, printing houses! I can’t imagine trying to 3d print with stuff that sets up quickly! It would be a disaster!
Have you seen the gel printers? Really neat.Just because they are made of plastic or resin doesn’t mean they can’t be artistic and beautiful tho. I, for one, adore my huge McFarlane hydra. They did a great job on it. Windstone and Melody make some beautiful dragons but them trying to make something like this in gypsum is my ultimate shipping nightmare due to the logistical hurdles they’d have to try to overcome.
