Hi everyone. I am not sure what everyone out here believes in, but I need your help. Its not much to ask for, but someone I care about needs some love and support. All you need to do is think good thoughts for this special someone who has a big place in my heart.
Here is his story.
I help support our Marine Mammal and Rescue Society. It operates in Vancouver, B.C which is about an hour drive for me. Last year I was able to tour their facility in person, and meet all their staff and volunteer doctors that help rescued marine mammals. Some coming from the States as well as Canada. I was able to see first hand their operating facility, small but newly built. I also got to meet many of their patients. Baby Seals actually sleep sucking their flippers, just like toddlers do!
I just received word from them that they have brought in another rescue. On May 5th a Sea Lion was found in distress. It was soon discovered that he had been shot in the face. He is now completely blind, and has lost a lot of teeth from the shots. When he was found he was starving to death.. and had already been in an injured state for over a week.
I am sponsoring his recovery. I can not imagine how much terror he has been in, and how his life is forever changed. Could you imagine being blinded and lost at sea. In pain beyond words.. slowly starving. Unable to defend yourself. This is the stuff of nightmares. I can not even understand why someone would harm an innocent animal. Its terrible to say, but I wish karma finds the person or persons that did this, only so that they may be taught a lesson to better appreciate what they have.
The rescue team have named this Sea Lion, Senor Cinco. All rescues are given names. It is so their success stories can be celebrated when they return to the wild, and also so that they can be grieved and remembered if they pass on. They have names because they matter.
So if you are a member on here, that loves animals.. which I am sure are all of us since Windstones are beautiful animals, can you please send your love to Senor Cinco for me, say a pray for him, knock on wood that he will pull through, send him good thoughts.. light a candle or wish on a star that he will recover and survive.
As his sponsor I will be getting updates on him. I can let you guys know how he is doing if anyone is interested by posting updates.
Thanks everyone!
May 14, 2017 at 1:29 am #1524409I should clarify that when I mentioned that I hope Karma finds the person or persons that shot this animal and teaches them a lesson.. I mean to say that I hope that they are caught, arrested and charged for this cruel act by the authorities. I also hope they do jail time.. and lose the rights to use fire arms.
May 14, 2017 at 5:01 am #1524412That is just so horrible that anyone would do that to another living being much less a helpless animal left to suffer and die like that.My heart goes out to him Matty.May Mother Nature cradle him in her arms to sooth his nightmares.
Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.May 14, 2017 at 5:40 am #1524416Wow, sorry to hear about the sea lion Matty! That is terrible that someone would do that and leave him to suffer! I feel for all animals as I think most people can relate to on here and I can’t imagine how people can do that to sweet defenseless animals! My mom and I sign petitions all the time to help animals that have been abused and rescued and we help support dogs in shelters that have been abandoned and neglected that would be put down if we didn’t help find them fosters and new homes. We support a few wildlife and animal organizations and charities when we can too. That’s great of you to sponsor him and I hope he pulls through and gets better!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
May 14, 2017 at 7:15 am #1524421It always amazes me how people think we are the superior species when all we seem to be able to do as a race is destroy other living things and habitats.
Sending prayers and healing vibes to Senor Cinco and well wishes to those who are there to help him and others in need.Looking for:
"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"May 14, 2017 at 8:38 am #1524422My daughter is doing her last semester of high school as a coop in one of the region’s wildlife rescue centres, so we hear all about who comes in, what they went through and how they recover.
Some are the victims of nature (they had a porcupine who probably fell out of a tree fighting another animal) and some are human related… it’s so sad, but thankfully, the real humans find them and other real humans take care of them.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

May 14, 2017 at 7:55 pm #1524435Poor thing! How could someone do that to such a wonderful creature!? I send big love and will most certainly pray that he pulls through. You’re a lovely person Matty, thanks for looking after that little fellow.
Finding happiness again.
July 16, 2017 at 3:56 pm #1527859Hello everyone. Sorry for the delay in the update. A week ago I received a very pleasant phone call from the Marine Mammal and Rescue Centre. They called me to thank me first for sponsoring Senor Cinco the Seal, but also told me some good news about him. I promised to share here with you guys so here goes. A group of veterinary specialists came in to provide dental surgery to remove the damaged teeth he had from being shot in the face. The surgery was a success. The Rescue centre was able to sedate him safely through the procedure as they have developed a drug formula that they use when rescuing other seals from garbage entanglements and other injuries.
I was told that Senor Cinco was doing well and recovering really well. I will be invited back to the Centre this year and I may have the opportunity to meet him. If I do.. it will be amazing. I am hoping that Senor Cinco will become an ambassador animal. The Aquarium names a few animals in this role. Their stories are shared globally to help educate others about Marine Mammals.
I was sent some pictures of him.. which I have no idea how to share here. But Senor Cinco is a beautiful creamy brown! He is gorgeous.. and not so little lol.
Thank you to anyone who reads this story.
