Hello,
I’m wondering if you will be producing any of the copper patina dragons, that are currently not in production, at any time soon. I’ve signed up to be notified, but just curious if you know of any possibly coming up.
Thanks! 🙂
January 23, 2017 at 12:48 am #1519295Yeah I would like to know too. I sold my copper patina young Dragon and may want another one back and missed the copper patina baby dragons.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
January 24, 2017 at 11:48 am #1519335Chiming in with Kim and Aquamancer: I’m still hoping for a bright ‘version 1’ teal-eyed CP Lap Dragon one day! But I might even settle for arestock of the dark ‘version 2’ CP Lap at this point. 🙂
Interested in buying or trading for: GB Pebble Sitting Red Fox in dark grey, Lap Dragon Test Paints (Water Sprite, Glacial Pearl, Opulence, Pastel Rainbow, and many others - see my Classifieds ad), Blue Morpho OW, GB Pebble Loaf dragons in blue/aqua/teal, and Griffin Test Paints (Black Rainbow or Frosted Jade).

Have you got a pic of what you call the “bright” version? The thing with copper patinas is every batch turns out different. I think the samples we use to match new ones to are the brighter version, but I’m not sure. They look bright to me
. We will paint more copper patina dragons, but it is a lower priority than other things. We’ll get to it eventually!January 26, 2017 at 9:53 pm #1519418Oh! Yes, I should probably have specified, sorry! I was going by the versions that are listed in the Store for the griffins:
;
The darker version looks more bronze than copper, to me (but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me). The only Store photo of a Lap in CP looks more like the dark “version 2” Griffin:

I’d love to see the brighter CP on a Lap! (It wouldn’t even have to be as extreme as the difference in Griffins; maybe just a bit brighter than the batch that this photo came from?)
Thanks for letting us Copper fans bend your ear, Melody! You guys generally save up ‘slightly defective’ castings before painting Copper Patina pieces, right? So I can see why it would take a while to get enough for a reasonably-sized batch! Consider this thread the “how big should the next batch be?” count-off. 😀

January 27, 2017 at 1:32 am #1519422I like the bright version as well with a good amount of the patina and purple. I hope more are painted soon, even just with regular castings as I missed the baby dragons I waited so long for and want to replace my young dragon I sold. I noticed the copper patina griffin chicks haven’t been available for a while either.

January 28, 2017 at 4:54 am #1519522AnonymousI’m glad to hear that others like the copper! I love the teal highlights and eyes against the copper. I think they look very earthy. I had forgotten about the Lap in copper! Stunning!!! I like the shade of the pic posted above by Nightcrow, and when I compare to the brighter color she shows on Ver 1 of the Griffin, I think I prefer the more subtle shade over the bright.
I only just recently discovered these wonderful Windstone creations and have two now. I will probably wait for a CP so will have to practice patience!! Ha ha ha ha!!
March 3, 2017 at 6:00 pm #1521200I must throw my squeak in there too! Absolutely love the copper patina on the dragons and the griffins. I’m hoping to someday have complete family sets, but we’ll see how that goes. I’m particular to the version 2. Absolutely stunning and as all say, pictures just do not do them justice. I’m always awed when I open a newly acquired Windstone.
I eagerly await those notification emails! 😉
