Do you have an ornament (or a few) that has special significance? or is your very favorite? Or has some story?
Take a pic and tell us the tale!
December 25, 2016 at 8:56 pm #1516142Merry Christmas! We got this ornament as a gift today and love it! The “our first Christmas” cracks us up since we’ve been together 20 years, but it’s our first Christmas as husband and wife 😉
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, Chanukah, Yule, Festivus, etc!

Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.December 27, 2016 at 9:03 am #1516303My mother gave me two Gloria Duchin angel ornaments when I was a child with my name and the year they were gifted inscribed on the bottom. I always cherished them but since my mother passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, they mean so much more to me. Sadly, they’re tarnishing because they’re old and metal. I don’t have a way to post pics of them.
Here’s an ebay example of what my ornaments look like.
December 27, 2016 at 9:14 am #1516304My most meaningful ornament is from a hallmark series called Frosty Friends. My brother got one each year. Five years ago he died from cancer. Before he died though he gave my sister and I the ornament from the year we were born. I got 1984 and it is the Eskimo fishing on ice. It’s sad to put it up because I miss him but glad for the memory. I continue to buy the current year one for my mom since she used to do it. I’ll try to get picture up.
December 27, 2016 at 10:49 am #1516323My mom made this for me in 1971, the year I was born. It is just a cute picture she found and then hodge podged onto an egg. But it means the world to me. She is still here but it is something I cherish as something that was made especially for me with love. I keep it at the top of the tree each year I put it up.
My grandmother made this for me when I was 12 just before she died. It was one of the only gifts I ever received from her. She lived so far away and I only got to be with her a few times. It means so much that she made this and was thinking of me.
Both of these ornaments remind me of the love that Christmas should entail.

January 11, 2017 at 5:30 pm #1518865How did I miss this Post?!? I’ve put away my Christmas Ornaments in the boxes, but I know where my favorite one is at… I’ll try to take a pic of it over the weekend – it’s a wooden handmade, hand painted Teddy Bear ‘puppet’ where the arms and legs are attached at the back of the wooden body with a series of string/ribbons that when you pull the main ribbon at the bottom the arms and legs move up/down. A really great friend and ex-coworker of mine got it for me at a Crafts Show. He lives in Boulder, CO and I hope to go visit sometime.
Another favorite for this year is a paw print of our little Girlie who we had to say Goodbye to April 2016. We got two prints and made one of them into an ornament this Christmas. This pic is what it looked like before adding the hanger:
On a Happy Note, we may have found a new puppy to adopt! Wish us luck! We may be approved and bringing little ‘Hunter’ home this weekend if the home visit happens this week. 🙂

January 12, 2017 at 11:39 am #1518890lol, Ya, this one. Manpanion received it from his Aunt one year and hung it on the tree with a bloody paperclip. Freaking men, “Yup! This looks great!”
Now, I use a paperclip to hang it every year:

January 12, 2017 at 1:49 pm #1518896I THINK that you have to be on the page for the sub-forum you want (Community, or Ask Melody, or whatever) before posting. If you are on the Forum main page and make a new post it seems to end up in limbo.
