This is the Male Griffin in copper patina. This batch released on 3/4/14 looks a little different from the last batch, so we are calling it “version 2”.
These “rescue” griffins are pieces that had slight casting defects. Normally we would have destroyed these, but we have devised a way to make use of otherwise perfectly good griffins by painting them with a textured “distressed antique” finish that enhances the surface flaws with patina and makes them beautiful. A few random areas are highlighted with brighter gold, copper, or a hint of violet. We all think they are gorgeous; they look like weathered cast bronze. We have given this batch blue zircon jewels and teal eyes. These griffins vary slightly in texture and color because every one of these is an individual. They are unsigned limited production.
