I play it totally safe too; Aussies are double coated; when it’s warm out I only take her if the air conditioning is on in my car; and drive thru only trips..she loves roasted chicken as a treat, and I never leave her un-attended outside; she is always within my site with fresh cool water 💦.
It is illegal in California to leave a pet inside a hot car; a Good Samaritan can break a window and call 911 and stay with the poor creature until it’s safe.Drag0nfeathers, I am sorry beyond words that happened to you …..

Same principal with children too…
I have several bottles of water anytime my rescue dog Journey 🐶 goes on a car ride with me, and stop 🛑 frequently to let her drink.
