Gasp! They are spectacular! I missed your livestream (I was working). But you have an incredible talent. Hat’s off to you!!!
Thanks so much ^^; Hopefully I’ll do another stream soon.
I might have to get you to do some commissions sometime. I doubt i could do Rana (in my icon) any justice as a sculpture, but i think you could probably do one of her quite well.
I would love to! Feel free to send an email if you decide to π
OHH it was a pink kirin, that’s so awesome. He’s gorgeous! Congrats π
When I saw the second one I thought of you, I hoped you had got it.
#3!? *pokes PS*
Hey guys! I’m going to be doing another stream today at 3pm EST (in about 2 hours). The link is here: http://www.livestream.com/quequinoxart
I’m going to be sticking hair on these two. Feel free to stop in and ask questions or chat! π
Everyone’s photos are so adorable!
So here are mine… first some personal reject photos:
And then the 3 I entered. The last one is the one they chose for the finals π
Both sellers also tried to claim that my only recourse was shipping insurance. This violates Ebay policy because, as I learned this week, shipping insurance only protects the sender, not the buyer. It was interesting reading the numerous articles online explaining that Ebay buyers should never pay extra for insurance because Ebay requires its sellers to get the item to the buyer as described, period. If the item is lost or damaged in shipping, Ebay requires its sellers to rectify the situation. Shipping insurance only applies to help the seller recoup its costs from the loss or damage in shipping, but the shipper must provide documentation that they properly shipped the items.
Both sellers had the audacity to ask for my help with filing their insurance claims by telling the carriers that the sellers properly packaged the items. Not only did I refuse to do this, but I told them that if the carriers contacted me, I would tell the carriers that these items were inadequately packaged and that both claims should be denied without question.
^^^ This x a million. Insurance pays the seller. Therefore insurance is the seller’s problem. If you pack it poorly, no shipping company will give you money back for you claim.
I’ve never bought a windstone from ebay (except from windstone)… I am sort of scared to after reading this thread.
Got my unicorn today! He’s really cute and I really like the dark tiger colouring. However I’ll be trading or selling him. I’ve put an ad up in the classifieds with what I’m wanting to trade for: http://windstoneeditions.com/classifieds/trading/safari-super-natural-dark-tiger-striped-grab-bag-baby

I’m still waiting on mine… I’m assuming the delay is because I’m getting dinged on customs. Ahhhh well. Hope mine turns up Monday.
There’s a thread for this sort of stuff here and this listing’s been posted already: http://windstoneeditions.com/forum/report-windstone-fakesknock-offsinfringment-pls-read-first?page=13 π
Thanks so much! I’ll try to do another stream soon π
Here’s the first sculpture I’ve finished this summer. He’s a dapple grey thoroughbred type named Consonance.
I’m going to my first art show ever in July so I’ll be bringing him to that. He’ll be for sale there, and if he doesn’t sell I’ll put him on etsy. If there’s anyone in the area, the show is called Artfest Kingston and is in Kingston, Ontario, June 30, July 1-2nd. And, as I said earlier, I am open for commissions at the moment too! π
It’s nice being able to sculpt again! π
I think I figured out what happened–either way it was just a small bummer, but it’ll be ok! I am sure I’ll be able to find a trade in such a huge batch. I sent up a prayer for Melody’s wrists when I saw the class photo. π
Did you email Susie? It’s possible there might be left overs?
Livestreaming now here!
http://www.livestream.com/quequinoxartSculpting and making armatures and such π
Hi everyone! I have not updated this thread in about a million years. Mostly because I haven’t really done much sculpting π ANYWAY my last exam was today, I am now done undergrad and so am opening up commissions. If you are interested, all the commission info is here: http://quequinoxart.com/commission-information.html
I am also keeping a public waiting list here, it’s quite empty at the moment though: http://scenceable.deviantart.com/journal/Commission-Information-and-Waiting-List-298787718
In the past I’ve done trades for windstones and although I am very low on room I am only human so of course can still be tempted. So, if you’re interested in that, here’s sort of a brief list of what I might be looking for:
1. Grab bag unicorns, young or baby, I like appaloosas and greys but will consider anything
2. White grand unicorn
3. Black baby and young unicorn
4. Silver Male Grulla unicorn
5. Lap dragons (pink, rainbow, silver, empea, peacock)
6. Fledglings (peacock, silver, ruby or red fire)
7. Ebay equines (unicorns and pegasi), I’ll consider anythingIf you’re interested, shoot me a pm or an email (commissions@quequinoxart.com) and we shall discuss!
I am doing a show over Canada Day weekend (July 1st) in Kingston, Ontario. I’ll be selling sculptures there, if anyone lives close and wants to come! In either case I will be quite busy in the next few months so should update fairly often.
Oh, and I am thinking I am probably going to do a livestream tomorrow afternoon around 4pm EST. Just sculpting and making armatures and all that good stuff π I will post here when it’s live.
The detail on the newer ones is amazing. From a few large, quick airbrush spots in the first batch to tons of meticulously hand painted stripes in the most recent. Definitely worth the price increase π
It’s kind of sad there aren’t more group photos of the youngs though! But they don’t photograph in a big circle quite as nicely either I suppose.
Melody you should definitely take a vacation. Somewhere crazy, like Amsterdam, go wild xD
