I need a steggie, but I need to wait until after I get back from Maine & Nova Scotia (end of Sept). If he is still available then I’d love to get him. If not, no biggie. I’ll get one eventually. 8)

If you would like to make an offer…I will hold him for you. He is happy where he is…but he is extra…Kaya

I’d mute my phone. My housemate couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t answer the phone the minute it rang all the time (I’d let it go to the answering machine). I’d call people back eventually (if it was warranted) or just catch them at the next class/meeting/etc. Sometimes you just need to do it for stress/sanity/piece of mind and need a break from the drama. Sometimes you just have to stick to your guns! 8) Then again, I adore my privacy and like escaping from the world for a day or two every now and again.

That’s how I feel….I am on the phone or talk to people all day for a living…sometimes I screen my calls with caller id or the ans machine…and call back when I feel like.

It doesn’t mean you don’t love em….but you have to live your own life!!! and you are way to old for your mamma to tell you what to wear!!!! Maybe they will treat you different if you don’t speak to them for a bit….and make it known why.

It’d be a real interesting challenge to get the male dragons, emperors, and old warriors to be pink and still look tough and angry! 😆

My sentiments exactly….but a curl, a coiled and a fledgie would be cute….just cause I lovethe curlies.

Awesome…I might take you up on that. When you first met him, did you understand what he was saying or does he also speak English?

English is his primary language…he learned Cajun French because his parents would speak it so he wouldn’t understand them…of course he learned it quickly….

Then its value drops immediately to $244.00 because it’s going to cost the best part of $100.00, in time and materials, to come up with a guaranteed adequate replacement if the original box has gone missing.

I exaggerate for effect, but not by much.

I really love the idea of a “box pool” for rentals.

Exactly, I certainly don’t mind loaning boxes if I get them back. JVargas and I did this already. I sent him an Emperor and then he sent me the box back with something I bought from him.

If I purchase another Old Warrior or Emperor that is missing a box, then it would be worth my while to send the box to the seller…especially on really breakable pieces.

Another option would be for the person with the box to send directly to the seller, and then the seller ships to buyer and Buyer ships box back to box owner…if you sent UPS or USPS it should only be about $30 for just sending the box around…that beats the repair hassles with a broken Emperor

I just wanted to let everyone know…you are all welcome and if you ever think about visiting, email me and I can help you have a great experience.

My husband’s uncle actually raises Alligators for their bed and breakfast / swamp exhibit….

I offered to help out another forum member and decided to post this in case any one else was planning a vacataion here. We love visitors and the people and culture are so friendly.

I am a transplant myself and I fell in love with the true Cajun Culture…I even married a man who speaks Cajun French…..you will never meet friendlier people than in small South Louisiana towns :0

in reply to: Spending trends #610973

My husband is in car sales and they have weird months too. Sometimes he is crazy busy and sometimes he is not. There really isn’t a way to predict if he will have a good month or not…summer is usually better, but not always.

From the buying side of things…I am more likely to purchase limited special edition items if I am not sure how long they will be around. I am also more likely to pick up retired pieces that I really want.

Month to month for me is a lot of impulse buying…I buy what I feel I really want. That is probably because I don’t have a set limit. I have a spouse who spends a lot of money restoring cars. So that limits his right to monitor my spending.

I do not think you can ever figure out a trend…because everyone is so different and different factors play into luxury item purchases.

I do tend to buy new cars in the summer time…almost every new vehicle or collectible vehicle we have was purchased during a summer month.

    Just my 2 cents

I really would have paid the guy, I have never NOT paid for an item that I won…I should have asked about shipping, but usually it isn’t a big deal…

ohhh well, if it breaks, then it goes back! I was just upset at the time.

in reply to: White Secret Keeper on Ebay !!! #610921

The reserve was $1000.00 so I started it off at that. The lowest sale price was $992 I think and number 6 sold for $1500 so the seller is just trying to get the money they spent on the piece.

I won the Jade coiled on ebay and I just paid for it tonight. I really hate these big estate dealers.

I PM’d the seller and asked that they look at the packing tutorial…of course after 3 days and generic email replies, I called the seller.

He has 3 or 4 accounts with ebay and he didn’t even know what I had won, would not ship UPS, only USPS and I told him that I was not going to pay for the item unless it was double boxed and had insurance.

He said, “we ship crystal all the time…this is JUST a little dragon…..”

UGGGGHHHHHH, you know if the buyer offers to pay for extra shipping and handling, then why can’t they JUST DO IT!

We will see if the coiled comes in one piece….

I hate dealing with sellers like this…

Most of the sellers are more than ready to accomodate..especially if you are willing to pay…this guy just made me mad!

Any one else have this problem?

Please don’t anybody think ill of “BY THE SWORD” – the problem described was entirely the fault of us at Windstone accidentally telling them that the Oriental Sun Dragon in Ruby was out of stock when we still had a couple of them left.

Your customer service is the best and you are all human…so don’t sweat it! By the Sword is a great place to shop!

I have some boxes…but they are for “rent” not sale..you pay shipping to you and then when you are done, you pay shipping back to me.

I have an Emperor box, a few Old Warrior boxes, Sitting and rising spectral boxes and Lap and scratcher boxes.

You would also be required to double box, so the shipper doesn’t tear them up.

This is for people who need to ship delicate things like Emperor Dragons….I actually am loaning them and you are paying for them to go to you and come back.
