She’s lovely! 🙂
Natural history museum, air & space museum, all the monuments…and 1 day… so many great things to see — you guys are gonna be exhausted! Hope you get to go up in the Washington monument! Have a blast. 🙂
No squeaking yet! Promise. I just wanted to know if it would be out someday. I way prefer the em pea to the v pea, but I have a feeling I’ll be outvoted. No matter, better one than none! Thanks!
It’s nice to hear that not everyone masks the eyes. I kept thinking that I could just be careful & paint around them, but after reading the topics of masking I thought I was being arrogant, so I went w/tape (which really is kinda sad/creepy to have their eyes covered, but far weirder to pop ’em out 🙂 ).
Where can we see your dragons? I just looked in your gallery and I love your crows! Please post your dragon pics!
Quote:I always kinda liked the stuff by Tim Cotterill (aka the Frogman). The names amuse me too. They are really kewl in person!
http://www.frogmanart.com/frogman/index.htmlExcellent frogs! Thanks! I love it that this group posts links to things of interest outside of windstone. Such an open forum.

Oops, third post, not first.
You can also just use masking tape (lots of little pieces). I decided to go the tape route because I read Koishii’s coomment on another thread about popping the eyes out and figured that sounded not fun for me. I used a toothpick to make sure the eye was all covered.

(I have a couple of my mom’s paintings I would grab, and told husband once he had to grab them over the Wyland sculpture he said he would grab. 🙄 ) I would actually grab my silver OW and the em kinglet (they are next after the paintings anyway!). Actually had this discussion w/husband a year ago, and afterward I copied all our pics on CDs and stored them at my parents’ house, ’cause I would hate to lose family pics. Guess it’s time to update.
Dragoness: have you made up your mind yet?
Melody,
I’m not really trying to add to your (very long) list, but I am curious, what are the chances that the black emerald peacock color scheme will ever come out on production pieces? (Or even retail direct sale?) If chances are low I may place forbidden bids on the OW, but if not I will patiently wait years for a different dragon pose. 🙂
(feels really formal writing to you, even on a forum, had to delete official letter closing!)
Grin: thanks anyway, for always being so open to everyone’s pleas!Purpledoggy: play the pregnancy card, can’t hurt! 🙂 And seeing as how we can’t open doors for you…
Thanks for posting the Savata & Bisson work! I’ve never seen them before, and my sister collects frogs (and my Dad would love the snake, though his are mostly real).
Mother’s day was great! I got 2 potted plants (both will go in the garden) and over 2 hours of painting time. 😀 Husband also ordered a new cabinet for my pantry (which is currently just open shelves, and trust me, that doesn’t look so great). He told me it’s so I wouldn’t bid on the black empea OW, and I’m TORN TORN TORN! Only 1 more to go, and I love that color scheme, but the cabinet is ~$900 (ouch). Ah well, still a great day (also got to remove splinters from Kiera’s hand and dog crap from her shoe treds, but that is def. part of being a mom).I won’t step on Ski’s toes here, so how much is a print? (and I understood why you were taking them off, but just sad that rip-offs seem to happen so often 🙁 ).
Before then, more pics?🙂 Thanks all! Arya’s comment about practicing was like a smack on the head! I have a couple of dragons that were gifts (not Windstones) that I don’t like (but felt obligated to keep) and I realized I could practice on them. So for mother’s day I was given 2 1/2 hours to play with paints (mostly blending and trying to find the colors to match what I’d been picturing). 🙂 It didn’t take long for me to realize I don’t enjoy painting ugly dragons, so I moved on to the Windstone and she alreay has 1 color (not quite all over). It’s gonna take awhile, no? But I’m more excited than ever.
Anyone know how to get good tans? I can make great browns, but every time I try for a good tan it ends up looking pink. He’s really beautiful; I love the grey body & metallic wings. You’ve definitely got a good hand for gryphons, so don’t let this be your last!
