So, after acquiring a freelancing job last June, I quit my retail job. Unfortunately, this was a really big mistake, as, being a noob at freelancing, I forgot to ask for a contract from my new boss. Turned out I only made $300 from the job, way less than I was imagining (and I had to BEG for the last $200, grrr) and because of the lack of official contract, I kind of got shafted. Anyway, so I lost that job and I’ve been jobless all summer even as I’ve been searching for a new job hard (not much luck in this small town.) Luckily all this time I’ve had a good supply of food for my cats from my last job which was at a pet store (NEVER AGAIN, SUCH a stressful job!) but a week ago, I noticed that I was starting to scrape bottom in their kibble bucket when I feed them.
With only a dollar to my name not counting my slowly dwindling savings, I started getting desperate, wondering what I could possibly do to feed my cats. I was really distressed all day today, worrying that I would have to borrow money and even thinking of going to even more desperate lengths – offering commissions which I’m super uncomfortable with – and then BAM! I walk into my living room just now to make dinner and there’s a suspicious brown government envelope laying on the couch where I usually sit! I open it up and there’s a tax CHEQUE inside for enough money to not only buy a 5 lb bag for my cats but to buy a big 15 lb bag which should last my boys three months, plus pay some of my bills! I’m so happy right now that it’s ridiculous. Hopefully this big bag will keep my kitties happy until after I have a job again! It’s so wonderful! I can’t wait to cash it and go buy them their bag, they’ll be so happy when I come home with it! 🙂 (New food bags are always exciting to them haha. They start sniffing them like crazy then trying to gnaw on them for the crinkly sounds.)
This is the best news that I’ve had in ages and I just wanted to share it! Hopefully it brings some cheer! 😀

I’m happy to hear that you got something GODD in the mail from the “tax-man”. I have a cat and I know what you mean – new food bags (even the same old food that they always eat) are a real event!
Hoping more good things come your way, soon.
Life is beautiful.
