Chloe and I are in Kansas right now. McDonald, Ks to be exact. Does anyone on the forum live around here? We’ll be here until Sunday morning.
Edit: We are back right now, we actually got back yesterday night. Has anybody been to the Ameristar Casino Buffet in Council Bluffs, Iowa? Mmmmm Mmmmm Deliciousness!!
We spent the week with my father-in-law, and it was fun for the most part. He has two mules named Mercedes and Benz. Benz is the calmest one, so we worked with him the most. Chloe sat on Benz a few times, and I was able to ride him once on the lead, and then by myself! I had a blast!
The terrain is beautiful out there, and it was beautiful to look at. I have never been that far West, so that was new to me.
On Halloween we hitched up the mules to a wagon and took some neighborhood kids along for trick-or-treating. Chloe was a giraffe, and everybody loved her costume. After trick or treating, one of the neighborhood kids baby-sat Chloe while we ate at Big Ed’s. They serve the best prime rib I have ever had!!
One of the neighborhood kids, Nakita, has a dunebuggy, and after riding around in that, I want one now!!

Holy cow! I had to google map where this is! I’m in Kansas, but I’m waaaay east of you… almost clear across the state near Kansas City, otherwise I’d offer to meet up in a heartbeat!

Awww shucks! I would love to meet up as well. 😀 The only time we’ll be heading east is when we’re going home, and we won’t be able to stop. unless it’s a pit stop. What city do you live in? I don’t know if we’ll even pass it.

You can hardly keep Alex off of Dancer…and Dancer is so tolerant Alex can get on him in the corral without any tack whatsoever and Dancer just walks around as usual as if there isn’t an annoying little boy sitting on him. LOL!

Oh yes, she loved it! That is so wonderful that Dancer is so docile around him! Do you have any pictures?

Yes she was. I thought it fit her because of her auburn hair. People commented on her when her back faced them because it looked like a little girraffe that was in someone’s arms, and they thought it was cute. 😀
