My husband will be gone shortly, and i’m trying to sort through some of his stuff now. He had this Aztec or Mayan calendar statue, it looks like red clay at a glance but it’s resin and quite heavy for the size. It has some tumbled semiprecious and/or quartz nuggets glued on here and there. I tried a visual search on my computer, but obviously don’t know how. It kept showing me AI faces and foggy roads and cars and dogs. Does anyone have any idea of what this figure is more exactly? I’d like to sell it but don’t know what to say.
I don’t have a history on it. He bought it off the guy whose Windstone collection I helped sell several years ago.

Okay, don’t know why the image didn’t come through, did it the same way as always…..

I looked up terra cotta Aztec images and came up with a site called Novica, which is an artisan marketplace site showing a few figures similar in style to yours. If you can’t get the image search to work, try searching a museum website like the Metropolitan museum or the Smithsonian for starters. Also check eBay. Seems a bit nice for the average tourist souvenir. Good luck in your search.
