I figured its about time I introduced myself, better late then never. I been a member for a few years now, I have always adored Windstones, but never thought I would be able to obtain one. I remember seeing them as a kid in Jewelry Stores around here (I ‘think’ they were windstones, not 100% sure), and I always wanted a dragon that was as beautiful and detailed as the ones I had seen back then.
Last year I saw 2 gorgeous dragons at the the tattoo shop I go to. The tattooist had received them as a gift from a client of his ! They were absolutely gorgeous and I envied him so… lol ! But no persuading could get him to sell them to me, since they were a gift he would not part with them. Otherwise, he said he would have sold them to me.
Recently everything changed, when I finally decided to go for one on Ebay. I ended up winning a male green dragon, he is an older one, gorgeous, and I adore him ! Then I started reading more on this forum, and the more I read the more interested I became, so much so I now have some PYO’s in transit to me as I type this! Im so excited to be trying some PYO’s….. excited and nervous all at the same time, lol!
Oh, and yes Im from Nova Scotia Canada! Im an animal lover, gamer, and also have some weird interests like human and animal skulls. I also have some collections of bobble heads from the shows Dexter and The Walking Dead, and some figures from Game of Thrones, plus many other odds and ends.
I have always had pets in my life until last year, when my pittie mix Baby passed away. She was 14 years old (thats her in my avatar), and I had her since she was a week old. After loosing her I decided that was it for pets for now. The new found freedom is nice, being able to come and go without having the responsibilities of looking after a pet , but it is a tad lonely also. I still miss my Baby girl like crazy, I dont think I will ever stop hurting from loosing her.
So thats a little bit about me ! I look forward to getting more involved here on the forum, and to learning more about painting windstones ! And Im sure my collection of Windstones will begin to grow more π
July 24, 2014 at 6:38 pm #916269A Formal and Hardy HELLO and Welcome to the Forum!
Glad you finally decided to start experimenting with the PYO’s – they are just as addictive as the Windstone Store and Special/GB/eBay pieces!Hope you have a lot of room to display all you get…. check out the PYO Swaps that are done twice a year as well. I joined the forum last year at the beginning of July 2013 and did my first PYO – a Keeper Dragon – for the Fall 2013 PYO Swap. It was great fun! Dragonmedley usually hosts them and the next one will probably be advertised in September, which really isn’t that far away …. π

*** Come visit me on deviantArt at http://ela-hara.deviantart.comJuly 24, 2014 at 7:44 pm #916271Hi =) I always love reading about excitement for PYOs! That’s what brought me to this website originally.
Anyways, what games do you play? I’m playing Dark Souls 2 myself =)
July 24, 2014 at 11:44 pm #916301The PYO swap does sound interesting, but not sure if Id be ready for that by September π My first few PYO’s Im sure I will want to keep for myself π But eventually I would love to partake in the swap.
Dark Souls II is an awesome game, I do have it, but havent played it much. A friend of mine is into it big time, and since I hang out at his place a lot, I watch him play this a lot, LOL! I really enjoy watching him play this game, it is an awesome world to explore, and some of the creatures, especially the dragons, are so cool looking. Since I watch him play it so much, I didnt bother getting into it myself, I just watch him, lol !
I tend to jump around a bit from game to game. I was into Diablo III big time, love that game. Beat it the first time through, but still want to go through it again in the harder levels. I started messing with Plants VS Zombies, and got hooked, so I played that till I beat it. And I was into Lego The Hobbit and Lego Lord of the Rings, but havent had much time to play lately. I need a month or 2 off of work, so I can just chill and sit home and play more, LMAO !
July 25, 2014 at 1:57 am #916317Hello! Another Canadian, yey! I live in Calgary, Alberta. Isn’t it fun stalking ebay and the forums here for pieces and pictures and getting ideas for painting pieces? I love it. I started buying a piece or two off ebay a couple years ago and then found this website and now have a curio case full of sculptures I never thought I would have! They are all so lovely though! Sorry to hear about your dog. It’s always tough losing an animal. My border collie passed away a few years ago from cancer and we haven’t been able to have a dog since because we rent now. We do have lots of kitties though, some I posted pics of in another thread. If you miss having a pet, there are always other lovely pets in need of rescuing from shelters or classifieds and things that would love to fill your home with love! My mom has always rescued cats and dogs and our most recent cat rescue has 4 adorable kittens! How do you like Nova Scotia? I have never been there but heard it’s really nice!

Hello fello Canuck ! π How is yah eh ? LOL !!
Yeah, I love browsing ebay, not only for color ideas, but for buying chances as well, LMAO! I totally love windstone ! It feels so good to be interested in something again, it feels like Christmas to me right now, with all my new paints and such, all waiting to be used π
Sorry to hear about your border collie, they are beautiful dogs. And I agree, loosing a pet is always tough, it is just like loosing a family member. They are like kids that never grow up. I have always had pets, from lizards to whites tree frogs, and a gerbil and multiple snakes. I was into the aquarium hobby big at one time, with 10 tanks on the go at once, with my biggest being a 55 gallon, and one being a tropical marine tank. I spent every weekend doing water changes, and even bred and sold certain species that were at one time hard to come by around here. (I even moderated an aquarium hobbyist forum for a few years, lots of fun, and time consumming, lol !)
Im am like you though, and I rent. I have always rented, and after my girl passed, I decided to move closer to work and friends. I only picked that apartment to begin with as it allowed dogs, and it wasnt the greatest place to live. Now I live in a wonderful apartment, I absolutely love it here, but alas, Im not allowed cats or dogs. Im not sure on other pets though. Someday I may like to get a corn snake again, they are so gorgeous and easy to care for. Fish I love, and I may ahve a tank again someday π But for now, Im enjoying the freedom, not having to come back home to feed or tend to a pet is kinda nice π I can go home (where I am initially from) to Cape Breton and not be in rush to get back.
Its cool your Mom rescues cats and dogs. I always tell people thats the best place to get a new pet from. They deserve a second chance at life, and all they want is a human to love! They were abandoned and dumped by someone, usually for no good reason. So why not give them the second chance they deserve.
Nova Scotia is great! Its beautiful here. Im in the City of Halifax, and its so pretty here, lots of trees and such all through the city. Im from a small town in Cape Breton, and always considered myself a country girl, until I moved to the city…. now I love the city ! This one at least! LOL! Its cool you live in Calgary, I bet its really nice there as well π
July 25, 2014 at 3:44 pm #916348Welcome! I wish you great fortune on your upcoming PYO projects! And my sympathies on your fur baby. It’s always hard. But I hope you are enjoying the time in between pets. People who love animals usually can’t stay away for long. π

I been considering another aquarium, but maybe a goldfish this time. A pretty fancy one or two, in a large tank as I know these poopers need room, LOL! Or, maybe a snake… hrrrmm… LMAO! I do love animals <3
