        Woot!

I FINALLY got my “endless cornet” up and listed on eBay!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300300112729 (check the “before” pic in the auction for reference!)

What’s NOT mentioned in the auction is that there are an *insane* number of hours that I worked on this thing. I’m still a student, so maybe after I’ve restored several dozen of them it’ll get easier, but this boy is about as finished as I care to deal with (even though I’m not completely happy with the finish), and definitely playable.

…and it’s got BIDS already? Whoo! *dances*

Ooooh, a LeBret with a transposing slide! Very nice work Tyrrlin! πŸ™‚ I didn’t know you were an instrumental repair major. πŸ™‚

I have a friend who does instrument repair (I was a former music major myself – changed for health reasons).

Hehe… I just found an old bugle from WWI-WWII era. I haven’t had a chance to get a really good look at it. A little dented, but nothing serious. Mostly just really dirty (blech). I can’t get low notes worth crap, but high notes are easy (I’ve been told this is the opposite of how it usually is, but I think it’s because my chops are so used to flute and piccolo, though my concentration was voice, a late choice :D).

The one instrument I know of several people who’d love to get their paws on if they could ever find one (they’ve been actively looking for years) is a jazz flute. No one makes them anymore, but they’re sooooo kewl. If you ever find one, let me know, good shape or not!

I’m curious, too. I’ve never heard of a separate flute just for playing jazz. Do you have any references to such an instrument? I’d love to see one. πŸ™‚

I googled it and just came up with people playing regular flutes for jazz music…. Unless they look the same! Sorry… Kinda hijacked the thread… back to your original programming folks.

And Dragon? It’s all right. Topics wander where they go. πŸ™‚
